On Thursday evening, Square Enix held a “Kingdom Hearts Premiere Invitation Event” in Santa Monica to share some news for the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts III game. While they did not provide a release date, they did share quite a few in-game screenshots via the game's official Facebook page showing Sora alongside numerous iconic Disney characters and the worlds from movies like Wreck-It-Ralph, Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

Those in attendance were treated to some hands-on play sessions with some describing it as delivering lush, Pixar-quality graphics as if coming straight from the movies. You can see the game in action below from one of this week's hands-on sessions:

During the event, it was confirmed that Kingdom Heart III will conclude up the Dark Seeker storyline started in the first game and in so doing, the game will get a little darker. The theme of this game is “resolution”, Tetsuya Nomura, the game's director, said. More importantly, Nomura announced that a release date will be revealed “early next month.”

8-Bit Blast = Nintendo Switch version confirmed?
Switch? Sora's model looks like it belongs on N64 right now. :D

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i see ppl mentioning khiii better be on pc.

I'm playing 1.5&2.5 on my reg ps4, the game is running frikkin flawlessly, very smoothly locked at 60fp.

and also has native 4k+60fp support on pro.
khiii graphically is looking damn stunning.
and will for sure be running splendidly on both regps4 and pro.
console gaming > pc gaming.
I mean I kinda figured, these games don't look very demanding, and 1.5+2.5 is one of the least "HD" HD remakes I've ever seen (probably because it was on PS3 first). That doesn't mean they have a good reason to throw money away by not releasing on more platforms.

Because those consoles with hardware from 10 years ago still holds up today
Not very well. AMD has newer, much more powerful APUs out now in their Ryzen series, could probably even cut down on physical size of the console. Wouldn't be surprised to see that in PS5. Not that there's any rush, consoles don't really have to compete with PC.

This looks like fun! Blocky Sora, eh..Anyway, I still feel silly for temporarily sacrificing Sony systems in exchange for a Switch. I'll just have to wait longer to purchase a PS4.

That will only work on gaming PC, and remind me how many PC gamer actually care about game like KH?
A 3.2 GHz i3 2120 from like 7 years ago and Intel HD 2000 chip can emulate the PS2 games even with enhanced resolutions, so if they port the PS2 versions of the Final Mix games or have lower settings/PS2 graphics and properly optimize the games a lot of people would be able to play them. You can get a 3.2~ GHz i3 for PS2 emulation for pretty cheap on eBay like $25 or so.

It's true there wasn't a release date so you can't really say it was delayed, but technically it was as it was expected to release a long time ago.
No. You can expect a game to lunch when you want to, but you are the only one to be blame if that ends up not being true.

The game was announced at least seven years ago. True we were never promised a release date but a lot of the time you don't announce a game until it's far along in the development process.

Five years, ma dude. It's still true it was very antivipated, but still some people have to think before writing.

Don't know if my eyes are deceiving me because it is a YouTube video but it does seem the framerate isn't locked. As far as i can see sometimes it does seem to be 60 fps and then when drops occur it locks to 30fps. Hope they will do something about this because don't like going from 60 to 30 constantly back and forth

Part 3 has been a long time coming, it seems. Welp, once it drops, wifey will be 'out of commission' for a few weeks. :glare:

I've got a (potentially) raunchy/'adult' story regarding this series, lol, but that's probably better suited for a status update/blog post....
;)

I'd rather take a locked 30 than deal with a bunch of dropping myself.
