On Thursday evening, Square Enix held a “Kingdom Hearts Premiere Invitation Event” in Santa Monica to share some news for the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts III game. While they did not provide a release date, they did share quite a few in-game screenshots via the game's official Facebook page showing Sora alongside numerous iconic Disney characters and the worlds from movies like Wreck-It-Ralph, Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

Those in attendance were treated to some hands-on play sessions with some describing it as delivering lush, Pixar-quality graphics as if coming straight from the movies. You can see the game in action below from one of this week's hands-on sessions:

During the event, it was confirmed that Kingdom Heart III will conclude up the Dark Seeker storyline started in the first game and in so doing, the game will get a little darker. The theme of this game is “resolution”, Tetsuya Nomura, the game's director, said. More importantly, Nomura announced that a release date will be revealed “early next month.”

Face it guys. Enough with the 202X release jokes.
KH3 will be out this year, and the playable demo showcase is proof of that.
Let's stop that and move on to the FFVIIR jokes...

Why they have to release it on consoles that have the hardware that is 10 Y.O

Release it on PC !

They should release the 3 collections(well, 2 if you count the dual collection on PS4) first on PC before that :P

Better shadows, better textures, better geometry ;)
And mostly better fps
None of that is automatic though, it's a bunch of extra optimization work on top of what they've already done. I'm sure Sony has an exclusivity contract for the entire series given there's still no 1.5+2.5 on PC/XB1, so it's somewhat a moot point anyway.

That will only work on gaming PC, and remind me how many PC gamer actually care about game like KH?
I'm not sure what you're considering a "gaming PC," but it's not that hard to outclass PS4/PS4 Pro with a midrange PC build now. And I'd bet there's a very large audience who would buy the games on Steam, but we'll never know for sure because they'll never give it a chance.

With how much GPU price had been driven by bitcoin, I doubt that would be the case anymore.

i see ppl mentioning khiii better be on pc.

I'm playing 1.5&2.5 on my reg ps4, the game is running frikkin flawlessly, very smoothly locked at 60fp.

and also has native 4k+60fp support on pro.
khiii graphically is looking damn stunning.
and will for sure be running splendidly on both regps4 and pro.
console gaming > pc gaming.
