New G6 DS Details and Photos

Photos of the linker

We've received some photos of the USB linker that the G6 DS will use and also some new information regarding the cart.

As you can see in the photos below, the G6 DS will connect to your PC via a high speed USB 2.0 DS card reader. The G6 DS simply slots into this reader and ROMs can be copied to the G6 DS at USB 2.0 speeds.
We have learned that the G6 DS is currently still undergoing testing and is in the final development stage. The file system the cart uses (unknown whether it's proprietary or standard FAT) is apparently causing some issues that have affected the products development. The G6 DS should be out in time for the Chinese New Year. Its price tag is unknown...

Would be interesting if this thing could backup commerical games.
They've never denied it.

Well... they've never mentioned it. But with this linker and a PC side app, I see no reason why it couldn't be done.

I don't recommend selling your G6, you will lose GBA compatibility then. It would just be for more space, and you could get a R4/M3 instead.

Hmm.. i don't get it. If my eyes don't deceive me, i see a male USB and female Slot-1. So waht does it do? If anything it looks like it'd do what reinmoon does.

What this is is the linker. You know how you need some sort of adapter to get roms onto the flashcart, like a usb, bigcard for the micro sd, or a usb cable for the ds-x? that is what this is. their slot card goes in the linker, linker goes in the computer, roms go on the card.

Yea, one more slot 1 card, hooray.

The hubub, that no one is openly admitting, is that unless there is some sort of snazzy programming in there, this thing can work two ways and it's one more step toward easily being able to "back up" whole games to rom format without having to wait for the dev teams to release them.

that could be interesting. its an interesting transfer design to say the least.
It does look a bit unusual. The g6 adapter looks more like a usb thumb drive compared to this.
I hope this can be used with real game carts to upload game saves (or the rom it self). But that's just wishful thinking.
