Bogus. The change logs don't tell you anything. Gateway's ETA specifically says Soon! ™
and Nintendo specifically said "Further improvements to overall system stability"...aka we cba telling you anything so ill copy pasta the same thing we say every other time, which is exactly same reasoning behind gateway "Soon™".
Are you serious...? Last time it took them more than a month to release an update.
So relax, and keep that Wi-Fi switch off.
yeah its a joke, because those threads always appear a few days after an update from very impatient people who stupidly run towards updates as if there is ever going to be anything worthwhile updating for the second a update is dropped:rolleyes:

Should I stay on 9.7.0-25U in case an exploit of some sort is created, or should I just go ahead and update when I get home?
also, 9.7.0-25U is completely unable of running any exploit, right? not even the spider exploit?

So far, regionFOUR works on 9.8, so if you're on 9.7, there's not too much a reason not to update, as far as I know.

By the looks of it I can almost say with a 100% certainty that he absolutely dead serious. I have a very good, almost near perfect keen eye to when people are not being serious. And I can assure you with no hesitation that the person you quoted in your post could not of possibly been construed as 'non-serious'.

When stats are taken on my detection of serious post I have a record for 10-0 never have I ever not been able to not detect a serious post.

Alright. I'll just stick to 9.7 for a few more days, though, just to be safe.
I've never had to use RegionFOUR, but I guess it's good to know, since I've wanted to play games from other regions before.

Perhaps GW has the right exploit to run new emuNAND, but they are waiting for a 10.x release. For that, I can wait. :gba:

IKR, we're still rocking. My games are still able to connect online and get updates, wtf I need eshop for if I can download the updates elsewhere.

edit: AND I'M STILL ON 9.2.

The Golden Rule is: don't update unless you have to, or unless trustworthy devs tell you to "update now" (in case they have something which may not work in a future firmware update released before they have their exploit finalized).

If he was planning to use GW or any exploit than he shouldn't be updating, using emunand, using cfw's. But its all too late now. I believe the only thing worth getting to work is smealums region-FOUR.

I don't use emunand or anything like that, I don't feel like messing around with those things until the 3DS is completely done with updates, because I don't want to constantly run the risk of bricking my 3DS, since my family has money issues, and I have issues fully trusting people I meet over the internet, so I wouldn't feel comfortable with sending my 3DS to someone in the states that I've never met. And adding onto the 'My family has money issues', I can't really afford a Gateway or Sky3DS.

ROLFMAO. Gaming systems, actually all systems (PC,MS OS, MAC OS, ANDROID, IOS), will never be done with updates. Thats the beauty of software. This isn't like the good old days with the famicom/mega drive.

Hardmod isn't necessary if you aren't dicking around with the sysnand and as long as you don't let other people touch your system who generally like to make "accidents" happen touch it.

Backups are important but some people are mad because it was never stated to them, and didn't follow the guides all the way through.

I imagine it will be done with updates a while after the next gen handheld is released, just like the DSi is now done with updates.
EDIT: It's also kinda like how now that the Wii U is released, there aren't any Wii updates.

Oh right when all of the developers have moved on to something better, k. I'll enjoy the developers progress in making it better and enjoying it at the same time.

I'll probably end up buying the next gen handheld as well, but I'd still continue to use my 3DS.
Just because the 3DS is out doesn't mean I'm gonna stop playing DS games because the 3DS is better.

I read the first page of this thread last night and got the impression it was alright to update GW emunand. Next day I did and rom loading doesn't work. Check the thread and it's confirmed. I should've stayed on top of this thread.

You can downgrade emuNAND, right?

Quick question, I'm on GW9.7, can I still play my .cia of MH4U online? Or will I get an update nag? I don't mind waiting honestly, lots of other games to play lol
You can block Nintendo from sending you the update nag using this tutorial.

Wait seriously? That's an awesome power!

(BTW, what's up with your username? Fite me irl)

This is accurate. I'm still waiting for the 5.0 update to the original Wii. Any day now...
But seriously, developers do stop supporting individual systems. Yeah Android is always improving, but will an original Samsung Galaxy ever get a new official firmware? Probably not. But then again, the 360 just had an update in April so maybe things are changing. But yeah, it'll be a long time before the 3DS stops getting updates.

Ahh... I should read the whole page before making a point. I'm keeping it!

(In response to the question on if you can downgrade emuNAND) only if you have a backup, still its not recommended
It's not recommended? First of all, EVERYONE should have at least one backup of their emuNAND. To everybody reading this who has a working emuNAND and hasn't backed it up... GO AND BACK IT UP RIGHT NOW! Download emuNAND Tool 1.03 and insert your SD card and then press "extract emuNAND." Save that to your PC and don't delete it. Should anything ever go wrong, you can inject it again. It's not risky, and is HIGHLY recommended if you have issues because you screwed something up.
