whats rxemunand?

Edit: I didn't know a custom Emunand was made I have been reading up on it so we can use this emunand like the normal emunand and it works on the latest FW. Is that correct? so why bother waiting for GW to update when we can all use this rxemunand instead?

rxTools' emuNAND doesn't support any of Gateway's rom/cia related features however. So if you're only looking to play retail carts, rxTools is perfect.

Don't think you'll ever be forced to update a 3DS. That's one reason I dislike Nintendo's online approach with the Wii U

Basically what I meant was if I'm ready to play online with friends, eshop, whatever...

Of course Nintendo can't force the update but it will limited your officially limit your access to the above. Unofficially there is a way around it.

GateWay emuNAND hasn't worked since 9.6. rxTools is the only emuNAND that works to the current version

This. If you backed up your Emunand with Emunandtool beforehand, you're good. If not, you can either wait for a patch or format your emuNAND.

Since formatting your Emunand works, you could probably backup your EmuNAND now, then format it so you can use EmuNAND again, then recover it if needed later once a patch is available?

Or did you just update emunand? Thats no biggie even if you dont have an emunand backup.
