Hey, have you heard about that new movie Creature? You know, the movie with the evil crocodile man that goes around killing people? No?

Well, don't worry, because you are definitely not alone; no one else has either. This movie has apparently just had the worst box office opening of any movie premiering in more than 1,500 theaters. This weekend, it only made $331,000.

And no, I'm not forgetting any zeroes. According to Rottentomatoes.com, this gross means that an average screening only played to approximately two people. To add insult to injury, one of the producers was the president of Universal Studios when Jaws was released; oh how the mighty have fallen.

The movie stars Mehcad Brooks (True Blood), Serinda Swan (Breakout Kings), and Sid Haig.

Well, I guess this is what happens when you theatrically release what is essentially a Sci Fi channel original movie. If you are at all interested in seeing history before you, go check it out now before your local theater pulls the plug.

Never heard of it online before, never seen a preview of it, and never even seen a poster of it at a movie theater.
I'd say bad marketing was at fault here. Normally people flock to see these types of horror flicks.

When I heard the name I was hoping it would be based on the book of the same name by John Saul.

I doubt I'll ever pay money to see this.

I think this is one of those cases where everyone who saw the advertisements knew how it bad it was going to be and avoided it. Besides, Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star also opened up this weekend, so anyone who wanted to see a train wreck of a film probably went to that instead.

Well, it wasn't the absolute worst thing out there in theaters... congrats?

Essentially a Sci-fi, no, wait, a Syfy channel original movie you say?

If it had been sharktopus released in theatres people would've paid to laugh at it, make no mistake.

I mean, of course Sharktopus would have done well in theaters. After all, it's the creature that is its own double feature.
