it's a 60gb sata 2.5" hard drive that i swapped out from my ps3, yes it's formatted to fat 32, it still won't show in the XMB, i used swissknife, LinkFormatter, fat32format, to format to fat32 and they all so far have not worked, the closest i get is that swirl on the top right hand corner shows but thats about it, nothing is detected, is there anything else that i need to do? i've put all the corresponding files in the folders they need to be so for example VIDEOS have my music videos in them, MUSIC folder has all my mp3's and so on, they still won't show on the ps3 though.
the hard drive is recognised fine on my pc no probs, it's just on the ps3 it won't show.

you really dont get what i was asking, do you? i've already upgraded and swaped my hard drive, i just want the ps3 to detect my external hard drive enclosure.
Is there something built into the XMB that could serve the function of formatting it?
