Hacking New 3DS XL in store firmware.

Happened to me. Got an error screen mid way through the downgrade. When I try and go back to downgrade I just keep getting stuck at hax init. Any tips? updating is obviously out of the question.


EDIT: Was do to BrowserHax, used menuhax again and it finished.

That's EXACTLY what happened to me!! I had to try safesysupdater and a few different updaters. Eventually one randomly worked. IF you can't get it working I've heard updating to 10.7 works. I'll read through the steps and try to remember what the hell I did to fix it.

IF you can, try using another entry point. IE menuhax instead of browserhax even though they are similar.

Saw your edit! You solved this way faster than I did, I realized what I did before was switch entrypoints!

Yea I was a bit scared at first when I rebooted to nothing but black haha. So im following this tut on CFW (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...s-full-menuhax-rednand-autoboot-setup.432499/) but a tad confused. What is the difference between Luma and A9LH. I mainly want to run .cia files.

A9LH is an entrypoint like menuhax, browserhax etc, Luma is the actual CFW.

I bought my n3ds not long ago and it came with 10.5. I don't think it will be much higher one month later, maybe 10.7?

Bought a N3DSXL Metallic Blue (EUR) yesterday.
Came with 10.7. Downgrade failed at some point and I got frankenfirm.
Ended up going with browserhax and menuhax to relaunch plaisysupdater and it downgraded NFIRM, which was apparently the only title left.
Works like a charm, proceeding with OTP stuff now.
