Hey I'm probably being a bit OCD but just wanted to check.

When I open my 3DS XL I can hear a slight clicking or squeaking noise. I don't hear this on my old model. Seems to be from the hinge.

Has anyone else had this?

Its pretty quiet, I'm probably being a bit OCD but wanted to check if theres a way to stop this sound

There's a piece in the hinge that clicks in some positions, it's normal since it's function is to lock the screen in place. When it's newer it's really a loud sound.

not a clicking noise when its in place.

i must have explained it wrong. i mean a quiet creaking noise when its being moved into the "lockable position"

basically a creaky hinge.

I'm having the same problem. Just worried if this is going to cause problems with the hinge later on.

Both my old 3DS and "new" all have a clean snap noise when it hits the 3 parts of the hinge. I don't hear any squeaking noises.

My Japanese New 3DS LL makes that sound, as does my friend's American Pokémon X 3DS. I think it is normal. It doesn't sound like it's a bad snapping sound to me.

sounds kinda gone away. not too bothered about it anymore. my original 3DS XL creaks a shit load when opening just from the body instead of the hinge itself.

my macbook is £1500 and is perfect. my nintendo 3DS's are like £150 and I think my OCD about them can sometimes get a bit ridiculous considering the amount of fun it gives me and the fact its functional.

I have the same thing! it was upsetting thought it was just me :(
It is like a crackling sound right as you start to open it almost like a crunching sound like 2 peices of plastic are rubbing together idk. its very subtle but killing my OCD also

Hello, i just bought a New 3DS and have the same noise... Do i have to be worried? or is it normal and wont get any problems? Thanks
This is normal, there's no way that a device don't make noises when having mechanical parts, i just played attention to what OP said and noticed the same. No need to be worried. Probably everyone's 3Ds makes slightly different sounds and intensities

Sorry, the translator worked where it wasn't needed ahaha)

ahaha very funny. only I am a developer and a master in laptop repair. I am not a fan of consoles, never repaired them, never played on them, and have no idea what you are talking about here. I just came to show you a tool that can simplify your work on modding PS4 and PS5 BIOS.

If you do not need any tools, and you want to continue laughing and perform these tasks on modding BIOS slowly - do as you want.

I know that any thematic community can be very toxic to new people and will joke about them for any reason.
But I am like that too, and I can joke too.

Only I am from another field of activity, in which you do not understand absolutely anything, and there they will laugh at you if you come there for the first time.

No offense, this is just a response to your jokes :)

Help me get past the rules, or else I blackmail the PS community, is what you are saying? Well no getting past the rules here. If you want to post links, you must have a certain number of posts first, it prevents spammers.

I don't want to bypass your rules on purpose.
But I don't have the time or desire to make 5 posts on a forum unknown to me just to publish a link to an open source project.
If you don't need it, just say so.
I don't need any bypassing of the rules, and I especially don't need jokes at my expense.
I'll even delete my topic entirely if yo

@lapot2, not so much trolls as just a little over a half dozen chumps who hang out in here regularly and chitchat about various things. Usually not even gaming lol. Hence it'd probably be better to just get a few posts and interact with the community a little bit so you can share the link directly :)

@DinohScene , I created a topic a long time ago, but I couldn't attach links to it to GitHub with materials for self-assembly of the device and a short review.
that's why I wrote to this chat later :D
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
report the thread you made and write down what links you'd want me to attach to the OP as the report reason, I'll take care of it immediately ;)

The open version, although it does not have many conveniences, but even without them it will be more convenient to work than with any other tools like ch341 and ezp2023.
Well, the full version is still impossible to get in Europe, so this is not even an advertisement for a paid device)
