Homebrew new 3ds or 3ds xl for emulators, gba and ds?

I want a new n3ds system for specifically for running emus, and playing gba and ds games. Which version of new n3ds (the regular new n3ds or xl version) is best and why? I am not interested in the new 2ds xl

They're both the same when it come to performance but i'd suggest n3ds cuz it fits on my pocket.

I have both and I prefer the large model simply because it fits better into my large paws. I even got a special grip thingie thing to further improve the hold. The pixel resolution is the same, but on the non-XL they are more dense. Some people prefer that.
So only get the small version if you don't mind a small item in your hands, and/or if you value pixel density.

i want to run the emus, DS and gba systems at their native resolutions or close as possible, which would be the better version, the n3ds or n3ds XL?
