Hacking New 3DS firmspoof (only games) 10.2* emunand.

this is just a superficial change, it doesnt really do anything except make the 3DS *say* 10.2.......it won't enable seed encrypted games to run as underneath that beautiful 10.2 Version string, its pretty much just the bog standard 9.5

PS you get the same effects by just installing CVER and NVER, i did it a good while back when 9.6 was first released just for lols

But the fisical games with internal update 9.6 boot well...

Hmmm i test more and the "old" games from eshop boot well... Mnnnnn, i tried tomorrow convert a .3ds (9.6) to .cia (without spoofs) for test this problem.

Wouldn't you still get the update nag because 10.1 is one level behind??
Current is 10.2.0-28...

Either way, my emuNAND was getting the nag until I added this.
Maybe it's just a coincidence, and maybe it will start nagging again in a day or so...

The actual files are all 9.5, but the version number is changed into 10.2.
That's the spoofing.
I need the method to do it myself.

3dbrew saiys cver is the checked file for card updates.

Don't they already do that?
Physical games don't use the seeddb.bin file, so they don't require cryptofix and should work fine on pretty much any emuNAND version (at least any 9.x is good), recent eShop releases do. Doesn't seem like your method changes anything except maybe getting rid of the update nag.

hello, after two days of suffering I've managed to create a emunand with "semifirmware" 10.2

commented the steps talk about the region EUR.

First, have a N3DS with emunand 9.5.

second, be installed as CIA sysupdater.

third, to download the firmware 3dsNus 10.2.0-28

steps.

One put the list of files in the Updates folder at the root of our sdcard once downloaded. (only used the files of list!!)

Note 2: IMPORTANT!!! The eshop downloads only works UPDATES, DLC and OLD GAMES, new games from direct download eshop not boot.

This description sounds like the similar thing I have done:
- Upgraded everything to 10.2 except menu/mint/mset/tiger (they're keeping on 9.4) which will brick the emuNAND

The problems are:
- The outdated menu (Home Menu) makes us still need the spoofed patches to make the patched game work (I haven't tested unspoofed APPs / Seed-enhanced APPs yet)
- The outdated mint & tiger (e-shop payment interface & client) makes us still need the Free Multi Patcher to visit e-shop or to purchase anything
- The outdated mset (System Setting) ..... Sorry I haven't found anything limited by this one
- Update files will still be downloaded and then pops up the nag even you installed everything but menu/mint/mset/tiger

I've heard someone spoofed those 4 components' 9.4 version and changed them into 10.1.
And I saw TC's method eliminated the update nag.
So I thought this post was using this technology.

If you can spoof those 4 cia version no to latest emunand one's then install them. There should be no updates, you can actually check that from system updater. This how I have 10.3 mt-card emunand with no updates.

The problem is that spoofing method is still unknown.
