(z) I'll be returning back to the other dig when I've had my fill of this game
wink.gif
So a few days from now I'll be back to normal....

Jumpman the boxes with numbers you were asking about have to do with data chips... If you go to the guy who gives you weapons (I can't remember his name, but if you leave the command center to the right and take the first door that you see it should lead you to him) When you talk to him, you'll see the complete (or incomplete) checklist of all the chips you've found.... Elves, characters, bosses all have chips, as do helmet upgrades and the like...

I really can't wait to find out what exactyl was going on, you can get an idea by playing it, but I want to know for sure... I've completed it again, and am on my way through it a third time (trying to get all the chips)...

I still can't figure out how to open up hard mode

Geez Luse, you're a freak playing machine. I can't figure out how to get to the 2nd level.

EDIT1: Ah, after I went to that guy I can access the 2nd level now. Thanks.
EDIT2: Boy, I sure hope nothing else happens after the falling green pots on level 2 because I'm never going to get past these stupid things...
ph34r.gif

EDIT3: And of course, after 20 minutes of attempts, I post this message and make it the next try...
EDIT4: What's up with the wierd doors that take you to green areas that look the same as the normal level?

Damn, this game is way too easy, it took me only less than two hours(with breaks) to beat it. I'm working on my second round to get the only chip that I missed which I guess you get from beating the game named above.
The other two took me a bit longer, but maybe that's just because I wasn't used to the game. I honestly wish they wouldn't have included any boss's from the first two, and I think their base should have changed a bit more, I mean everything is pretty much the same, though the characters kind of switched locations a bit, I wished it would have changed more.

The weird doors take you to the cyber world, which is supposed to be used with the e reader/MMBN 4 connectivity, and the like...So far the only useful purpose without those is in the next to last level as it allows you to fight an old fan favorite boss from MZ...

Luse, that's a very good tag and avatar you have there. I was wondering if you could e-mail me the sprites + images you used or all the MMZ3 ones you have? Please PM me if you can, and I'll tell you my e-mail.

I have yet to download this game, I'm going to go get it now... This will be a good surprise for my little brother, he's a big fan of MMZ. :-)

VAST IS DER BOXES, YOU SAY?[/SIZE]

The boxes - the ones that display numbers when you pick them up - are "data chips", and their purposes are many. After the first mission is complete, and you recieve your weapons from Servo (the guy with da visors), you can talk to him and choose the top option to view and use your chips. Be warned that viewing a chip this way will cause some to activate....

The first six or so are abilities for the helmet and boots (use them to add the custom chips to your equipment selection).

The next eighteen or so are apparently "text data" chips that are most likely a plot summary or history.

24 through around 90 are all Cyber Elves (of both kinds). Activating them adds them to your cyber elf list, where you can use them (and feed them, I think - I haven't tried it yet). Be warned that certain elves will automatically activate when you enter cyber doors, so if you want an S/100 rank all the way through, you'll need to either avoid the cyber doors (the blue ones, remember), or not activate the elves in the first place.

98-110 are Energy Crystal data chips, which give you varying amounts of Energy (for feeding elves) when you use them (anywhere from 50 to 500)

111-about 125 are various boss pictures...130 through about 164 are enemie pictures....and all the rest are character profiles. So these last ones are essentially pointless, as far as we know so far...

Well, someone really knows their RMZ and Japanese well, don't they? XD This is some very good findings, and I'm sure it will become useful for many, including me (well, it will include me once I finish my download of the game!).

I just have a small question, if anyone can answer it. Is this game easier than the previous ones? Or just as hard or harder? I've never been able to complete the previous ones because of their insane difficulty levels... :-|

actually, that's mostly through experimentation...heh, someone who cheated to get all the chips could've told you that (I prefer to try and find them all, and I'm missing about 25-30)..

As for the difficulty....it really varries. On the one hand, some of the new equipment (custom chips, like the one that autocharges your weapons or the one that gives a double jump) is very helpful, and you don't need to spend any time "leveling" your weapons anymore (which I kind of miss, but which saves a lot of time). In addition, some of the bosses are real pushovers even if you don't have the right element.

On the other hand, while most of the levels are straight forward, a few can be quite tricky in terms of mission objectives (like the annoying submerged highway stage, where you have to hit certain buttons before they are destroyed). Then again, if you don't care about rank, you can pretty much ignore those (and use all the elves you want). A few levels have "tough" spots, especially the weapon recycling factory (I think that's the one) where there's moment where you have to jump between boxes sinking in lava.

And some of the bosses are just....geez. I mean, I imagine some of the harder attacks are due to my save-state gained S Rank, but you'll still probably find a few of the bosses are quite tough, even when you know their pattern.

I'd say the game is overall easier in terms of playing the actual game than the first two, but there are more situations where you might feel totally helpless. It's an annoying tradeoff, but better than nothing, ne?

I'm still missing 23 chips... I've found a few in the strange places...

Some are easy to miss like...

The old man (THE old man, from the all the Megaman Zero games), about half way through the game will ask you alot of questions (about 10 I think) and so because of the language barrier it's just pick between two answers and then hope you got it right, if you get it wrong the questioning will end, but you can start over again...

It's not his chip you get though, it's the 500 eg chip...

The guy with the fish (command center level 2 I think) will give you his chip then as well...

I also found out how to open Hard mode (from a guy on Gamefaqs) hold the R button when selecting new game... You get Proto Armor Megaman Zero which means no charge attacks, no elves, no bonuses...

Supposedly after you beat hard mode you get a new mini game, as well as if you hold the L button and select a new game your supposed to get an uber Megaman Zero and then another bonus mini game after beating that....

dotKite // SALVATION all the images I used were ripped directly from the game (screen captured) for the sig and ava... After I made them I deleted the images... Sorry...

Dais do you have any theory's on the final boss, (I'm assuming you've beaten it)

Spoiler vision follows : Is The final boss the real zero?

There are several ways to unlock the minigames, apparently....

As for the final boss.... SPOILERS OMG DON'T HIGHLIGHT KIDS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SCARRED FOREVER...

One thing you have to keep in mind is that if, in fact, the main character is a copy of Zero or whatever, that means that X6 and X7 might not contradict the official timeline. That said, I think there's a lot that happened in between the X series and the RMZ series that they have only begun to hint at (with Weil, Omega, and the Dark Elves) - and I think we haven't yet seen the real truth behind the "double Zero dilemma". Maybe in RMZ4, or maybe not...

That's no problem, but just one question... Are you using Photoshop to rip them from the screen captures? If so, which tool works best?

And now, I've finally had a ten minute go... And spent it all on trying to defeat the first boss. Eh heh heh heh. ^_~

It was very hard for me, since I'm not the best gamer you'd imagine... And I'm using a Joypad and Visualboy too, so, yeah... XD

This lil' game made me quite frustrated yesterday. I just don't seem to get out that STINKING building (you know the one with the two tower things, with the lab, the room, all the beds and shit). I've been there for an hour or so and I just don't understand that japanese shit, but I tried every combination of dialogue and computer connection in there. How the bloody f%^$% do I get out of this building, so that I can experience what you lot rave about......

Well now that we know how to get into hard mode I'll try that after my second round of normal. There's still a few things I don't exactly know what their purpose is. The Two other helmets other than the one with the circles around it, the two new element things. and could someone tell us exatcly what all the legs do, I already no the Double Jump one, The water jump, and master legs which do everything.

And actually I find the Bosses to be very easy, after you learn their patterns except I find that at times when the boss lives slightly longer they start to pull new stuff, like the egyptian boss he always makes the floor all weird shaped but then I kill him so I don't know what that does yet.

Quick question in Spoiler view:

So then is the zero you fight just a copy of you? And do you ever get his abilities perhaps in this new mode after hard that you speak of???
