I've been waiting for this one.

Nice quick review there Dragonlord, I agree with everything you said.

The only gripes I have about this and other FPS I've tried on GBA (Duke Nukem Advance; Doom II; etc...) is how fast the player runs. I think it's just too fast. If it was a bit slower; I'd personally find it much easier to play.

I agree, this is a very good attempt at a 3D FPS on the GBA. True with all GBA FPS, the pixalization is the worst thing... but that can't really be fixed when you are trying to show a guy that is 20+ feet away on a screen that has a very limited resolution.

Main game positives:
-great basic player controls... and thank you for including a sensitivity adjustment... great idea.
-great level design, they look really good.
-multiplayer... havn't tried it yet... but look forward to once I get together with my other GBA flash cart buddy.

complaints:
-how long it takes to get from regular view to scope view.
-it's kinda frusterating holstering your weapon... doesn't always work as smoothly as planned.
-the missions are pretty difficult... i'm having troubles beating the 3rd mission (the one after the first 2 dummy exersises... but still a training mission)

I'd say EvsS:Balistic and 007:Nightfire are my favorite GBA FPS... but this is right below that.

I mm a big fan of FPS on PC but on GBA I am not as exited about FPS as on PC. For this game I have used my GBA instead of the emulator and it is pretty hard to make difference between bag guy and civilian people. The screen is too small. The game is running pretty smooth but to be able to enjoy it I suggest to use emulator on a PC screen. I will probably re-try it when I will be in a FPS or die mood

and I will probably enjoy it more!

I beleive that he means that the only game that he liked enough to continue playing was Dark Arena and not that Dark Arena was the only game that he had played.

Okay, I really have to recommend this one to everybody.I tried lots of games in this genre for the GBA. But this one is the ONE I guess. It's a bit rusty at first as it is with all of these GBA FPS games, but after 2 training sessions I really got in to it. What I find very good is that the difficulty level is very balanced. It's almost more exploring/puzzling than shooting like a mad man through thrilling action packed megalevels. Instead, it's just short straight levels with all kinds of different objectives. I really love the nightglasses in some levels. Also the plot is evolving nicely and I just kept coming back for more. It's VERY addictive. And 'yes' the graphics are sometimes a bit blocky and the 3D makes it sometimes hard to see where you are, but I opened a topic a while ago about realism on the GBA...Well, this gets very close I guess as I almost maneouvred my GBA in all kinds of angles to find my way through the mazes. This one's a real winner for me, it really made me proud owning a GBA once again.

Based on that mini-review, i'll put some extra effort into it then

I managed to complete it now. I'm not a super duper gamer so I guess in the +/- 3,5 hours I completed this it's a quite short game. Anyway I enjoyed this a lot, just BECAUSE it's not devilish in the difficulty department. According to the high satisfactory level this has been a great game for me. Great work TORUS!
