it's sorta based on the max payne "engine" right? Although it HAS to look better, with no bullet time, etc.

It's just too bothersome using passwords, you have to always grab a pen and paper (not good if you're outside without these things) and not down the password which could easily get lost, meaning that all your progress is gone. It's just easier in general without passwords, it's one thing less you have to think about.

True! True! I was playing CT Special Forces II the other day (actual cart; I won it in a competition), and everytime I passed a level I went over to my desk and was scribbling passwords on a piece of crappy paper. And I thought to myself, wtf do I have to do this for? This is 2004! How hard can it be to add save feature!? Granted, the passwords are only 4 numbers though.

And now I seem to have lost the piece of paper...

The story

I also recall a flashmovie by the same name, also a short story. Let me find it.

Sorry, I can't find it.

It was very good though. It's very hard to find it for this, as when I search A Sound of Thunder, I get some thunder research, and there's also a movie called that, so adding "movie" at the end, and the word flash is used in the story and in the reviews, so that doesn't help either. x______X

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
