Bandai's the one who developed this game. Square Enix also released a PS2 game, "Kakenai Tenshi". They and GanGan are responsible for all the Full Alchemist goods so that's why there's a copyright under their name there.

Why does he have a metal arm?

When Elric was 12 and his brother Al was 8, their mother passed away. Being the sons of a skillful alchemist, they decided to take their dabbling further, annd bring back their dead mother.

But Alchemy follows the law of equivalent trade, and the brothers did not allow for the cost their mother's soul would ask from them. Elric lost an arm and a leg, his younger brother's spirit got ripped away from his body and only quick intervention by Elric linked the spirit to a metal suit of armor.

So Elric has a metal arm and leg, his brother is made of metal and thus the name Full Metal Alchemist!

Never watched, but from the description this anime seems so freaking messed up =P

The battling system is pretty good with the mixing and such but... are the materials infinite? Being the only limitation they comming randomly in-battle? Need to know about it so I won't go away casting spells to non boss enemies uselessly XD

If you press start youd notice that there is a amount of money and that is what you have for the alchemi part,By the way vamp , the brothers name are Edward (blonde chibi one)Elric and Alphones (Al, metal guy)Elric , and Ed lost his leg while Al lost his body , so that he doesnt get lost Ed used the armor in the back as a body for Al and that how he lost his arm , and since they have something called auto mail extensions in the story world he doesnt have to be at any handicap living his life. And to all you who doesnt understand them bieng in the city where the pope man is ,they have a mission to search for some info about a philosofers stone that can grant an alchemist major power and so one ,hehe WTACh the anime and youl understand

Edward manages to contain his brother's soul in a large piece of armor suit. However, merging the soul and body of the dearly departed comes with great cost and that is how he lost his right arm

These are some scientists, drawing magical circles to fix mechanical stuff

Haven't played much of it yet but it seems fun. Graphics are a bit on the blurry side but then again, it's a 64MBit ROM. Some nice BGM tunes to go with it.

Hopefully the FMA anime will be brought to North America, then we might have a chance at actually playing this, and the PS2 FMA game in english. We can only hope *crosses fingers*.

The games starts when u meat Rossy, i thought it will start when EdWard becomes a nationly Alchemist. I didnt expect it fellow the anime squence. I thought it will fellow timeline.

Walk to the right end of the train (outside), and attempt to produce a "4-4 Metal" through process of material combination, when brought into the, "Alchemy materials"/"Alchemy Creation" screen. The, "4-4 Metal" will be used to create a ladder that will allow you to progress to the next stage of the level (Boss fight, Corniche's introduction).
