I like the way you can do combo things in mid-air (i.e. you do a move, do another, do a special, repeat) and time slows down whenever you do a special.
Is it just me or do you have waaaaaay too many specials?
This game reminds me of what I have seen of Viewtiful Joe. Can anyone who's played both these games say if they are similar?

well it's fast paced like viewtful joe, minus the slow down time, speed it up, and zoom in moves. but there are plenty of different moves to chose, I would say it's similar to viewtiful joe but much slower and obviously with less graphics

anyways. cool game. i guess its like veiwtiful because it controls very fluidly. but otherwise its not. seems like a cool game. i think ima stop playing till its in english tho, cause i love astroboy and would prefer to have story

Hooray! I solved it. You have to smash up the stone/rock thing behind the old man, so the door will open. I'm now on the moon somewhere, i don't get how to get up the top of the high platform..?

EDIT: According to GameFAQS, Astro Boy: Tetsuwan Atom is due in the USA 12/18. That's Thursday!

i have already finished the game 2 time and for some reason i haven't already finished the table...
anyway this game give me the same feeling of devil may cry 2
a big hole in the water!
why?
it's simple... like in dmc2 all the enemy seem that they doesn't want to fight you and they are there just because they get paid... making the thing worse there are the power up... after you upgraded your life and your beam at the maximum you are so strong that you can complete the game and never die once! another thing that pissed me off are the special attack... 30?!?!?!?!?!?! with a so high number i can use it anytime i want what a special attack is if i can abuse it? the only thing that is good in the game is the last chapter

P.S if you are going to ask why i finished it two time know that
1) i was curios to see what happened with all the table finished
2) i didn't want to do the mission 24 on fire emblem (man... that game is scaring i wouldn't be shocking if a night i would wake up and shout "NOOOO WHY THAT UNIT HAS APPEARED BEHIND THE GROUP AND KILLED (insert random name)"
3) the game is short if we exclude the table

Anyway. With _that_ out of the way, this game isn't that bad. It's a little simple, but a guilty pleasure, I think. I got up to the boss in stage 7 and he handed me my ass, but I had some fun, defenitely.

I haven't even started playing it yet, so I can't say if it's good or bad yet, it'll have to wait until tomorrow when I get home from work...



Luses guide for non japanese players to play this game with greater ease...


1. Step one, load the game up on your rom player of choice (VBA, ezfa, flash, etc)

2. Press start to skip the intro screen.

3. Press start at the title screen.

4. From here you have two options, press START to go to the game log on screen (skip to 6 if you pressed START), or press OPTION to veiw options (Read 5)...

5. By pressing OPTION you come to 3 more choices and they break down like this...

1st) Shows characters you've found in the game, and tells you a bit about that character.
2nd) Takes you to Scores screen, where again your given three more options...They are...
A ) Total time taken to beat the game.
B ) Stage level scores, as you progress each stage becomes selectable
C ) Ranking chart, that shows all the levels and the tops scores for each one that you have completed

3rd Clear your saves from the game (I found this out only after deleting my bloody save)

6. If you hit START, you will come to a save file screen where you can pick from 3 files to save your game...Input a 3 space name and your almost ready to play....

7. The next two options are critical to how the game will play...

The first option will give you 30 special moves at the start... Might be easy mode but I can't read Japanese...

The second option will give you 3 special moves at the start... Might be noraml or Hard mode again I can't read Japanese...

The game will start with cutscene's if you hit the Start button you can skip them, and last but not least the game starts out with a mini tutorial on how to play the game, to skip that hit start....

luse, yep, i was just going to say that. for those who feel they have too many specials.
actually after you type in you name it will ask you whether you want simple, or normal play (or was it hard, i don't remember).

this game really is awesome. with the exception of only allowing three letters to a name, everything else is great. since it's a staged based game i don't mind about not having a continue/save function, and it saves automatically for you anyway. you can skip all of the scenes with the skip button (this is why i hate rockman sometimes. too many unskippable cut scenes!!), and an easy mode for action-challenged ppl like me.

and two modes of game play too. the beat-em-up part is just as good as the horizontal scrolling shoot-em-up part. hell, some makers would probably split this game into two parts. the combo part is cool, and the way that dashing makes you invulnerable for a while is awesome as well.

overall, this is probably the best release this month for me. kitaro and gash bell were slight disappointments for me, but this makes up for it.

hmm astro boy hmm isnt astroboy that cartoon that cartoon freakazoid watched on tv, and the astro boy would fly around and scream i must succeed and start beating his fists on something then get squashed or something like that. probably not, but it looks incredibly familiar.....perhaps the cartoon freakazoid was making fun of it, cause its a spit image of him lol

aaaaa, it's not a personal thing, but you do have quite a number of posts on things you don't know about, lack interest in, don't have respect for, or have a vague memory of. and most of the time, i get the feeling you don't care.

maybe you should pick up the game, play it and post some comments.
