This is what usually happens after Son Goku complains "Hara heta Na!" (or something like that)
Remember Saiyuki? For the PSX? This anime-based game was like a *cooler* retelling of that tale.. gun-toting, dice-playing, smoking monk Sanzo, playboy womanizer Gojyo, monocle-wearing pacifist Hakkai, and fun-loving monkey Son Goku. Good times, good times..

Man, can't wait to download! Any other ACTUAL saiyuki fan?

Edit: part of the subtitle "toshin taishi", if I remember correctly, roughly translates to "fighting god" from the second half of the 50 ep story arc, where they actually HAD to fight said "god".. so i wouldn't count this as a food-eating only game.. actually this is reported to be an RPG, so.. ARRGGHH! [IMG] [IMG]

Somebody, ONEGAI! Translate this game, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! [IMG] [IMG]

Agghh! It's NOT just eating!! [IMG]

check this link out for MORE details: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n08/software/bgmj/index.html
(forgot where i found the link, sorree!)

I'm past the eating MINI game btw, and maybe only a die-hard saiyuki fan would want to figure out how to get past that.. (there HAD to be more to this game!!) B)

And fortunately, there was. It starts out where the Sanzo-ikkou meet the giant shiki-gami but no fortuneteller! Then the story immediately jumps to the episode where they meet the impostors for the first time!

It follows the story well, uses cutscenes from it, but i'm hoping it would go beyond the anime and reveal more.. but looking @ the title..

I was hoping it was a fighting game! Oh well, this'll do! [IMG]

Gaahh! Do you see a fork? It's NOT noodles, people! It's NOT a weird round yellow fruitcake either! It's FRIED RICE!! [IMG]

I've played much farther into the game, and so far it plays like a VERY stripped down version of Thousand Arms. There is not much in the way of customization (i.e. items, weapons, abilities) but that's how it was in the anime anyways. Speaking of anime, this game is SO faithful to it, importers would recognize from the cutscenes the episodes themselves! I wished they'd have included ANY of the theme songs of the anime... that'd b cool! B)

I really wish people would give this game a chance.. or better yet watch the anime. It's THAT good! [IMG]

This is awesome, I have only seen the first couple of episodes subtitled, but it looked pretty cool. If this comes out in english I might get it, my Japenese is a little rough. BTW, it does better on telling Journey Through the West then that "other" anime does........ *shudders*
Also, is the PSX game in english? I doubt it, but maybe!
