Maybe the 3d on crazy taxi is not very well, but the game is quite fun and good! they cannot made a crazy taxi in 2d

But i think that Colin mc rally 2, wing commander prophecy,v-rally 3 and ESPECIALLY super monkey ball Jr have good 3d and it is good to see good 3d on GBA!

That's weird, worked fine for me. I was using Pogoshell 1.3.
I didn't truncate it or remove the intro from it so maybe it has something to do with that?
Pogotoolz sometimes strips a rom down to about 100 bytes or something so I do it manually.

EDIT--
I've just remembered that it didn't work without SRAM patching it. Try running it with introskip or reset.

Hmm.. You could do Crazy Taxi in 2D, you'd just have to make it top-down like Grand theft Auto 1 and 2 instead. Oh, and Resi Evil would work brilliantly on a GBA - the backgrounds are 2D anyway, it's only the monsters and characters that are 3D, so the GBA wouldn't have to push too many polygons to get the game running. Another prime candidate for this would be Metal Gear Solid - it's all basically top-down anyway, despite being fully 3D. You could easily make an MGS game in 2D.

What was that game called? Commander Keen or something. I dunno.
I think this is an ok game if you can look past the slow frame rate and awful graphics.
It's easy to pick up and play and sort of addictive i think.
I just hope Wing Commander Prophecy is out soon.

Ok i have been playing it for a few hours. The graphics are quite poor - very pixelated. But the city is huge, with various nice locations like hills and ramps, the frame rate is quite good for the amount that is going on. The gameplay is good, but the graphics let it down...

I rate this 5/10

It's a 50/50 between the graphics and gameplay.

It works fine on Pogoshell 1.2 when you select crazy taxi from the pogoshell menu hold left shoulder button and press A.

When did pogoshell 1.3 come out? I dont see it on sourceforge?

Try to see the GBA power more like a 486 or early pentium pc... you'll get the picture.
I'd think of it as a Pentium 2 cut in half to fit coupled with a "monitor" with a low resolution (of course)

C'mon people the game's not THAT bad
laugh.gif
Not against the game, but the power of a gba *is* poorer than a P2.
As I have seen the Resident Evil thingy Blue Roses made, then I concluded a WC3 miniversion could be made with really phat optimization. and not very high poly chars.

DELETE THIS POST, sorry for tripple posting

Have you played the old PCgame Hi-Octane? It runs really fast on almost all PC's, try it on a p200> and you won't be able to play it cause it goes too fast.
My 486 100 mhz even played the game too fast.
It's fully in 3d, and I really think it could be ported to GBA quite easy.
