Hardware Network two wii's locally

I need to get some game cinematics. Two players on the same machine splits the screen, I want to network gameplay so I can capture full screen.

If I have two wii's sitting right next to each other, can I network gameplay two wii's locally on the same network?

There's nothing technically preventing this, but I don't know of any Wii games that support LAN multiplayer.

Wii multiplayer relied on WFC which is now down. Unless someone releases a WFC emulation environment for the Wii (there is one in the works for the DS) or hacks particular games to work in LAN you can't play multiplayer like that.
