The European NES was first released in 1 September 1986. Which is first stores in Germany sell this? Newspaper ad, magazine ad, store ad, or tv commercial exist? I can't find on internet and i don't know German langauge!

(It probarly moves to "Oldies Questions" page.)

I found one but maybe is not the one you want. The video is from Germany commercial:

German commercial to the Nintendo Super Set (NES with 4 controllers and 3 games), possibily from the late 1980s. This commercial was also shown in Portugal, dubbed in the portuguese language.

In Europe, SMB1 was released in 1987, Tetris was in 1990 and NWC was released in June 27, 1991.

Good Luck.:)

I send e-mail to FIRMA STADLBAUER, i don't get answer :'(

To do: It pains me to write this, but I can't find a List of NES games, consoles by accesories, by timeline 1986 and 1995 in Germany and I'm pretty creeped out by some of the sites I've come across in the process of trying to do so...so, uh, please do your own research.

Also, i can't find a catalog/brochure with nes console (between 1986 and 1995) in germany and don't have a time machine.

It only launched in 1988 in the UK, and again I don't know what it launched with!
Easy enough to find the US launch of course, but as there was a Nintendo of America it's not hard to see why that info is easier to find.

So again, no idea sorry...
I know I'm years late in my reply, but for the sake of gaming history that ISN'T American or Japanese...

The NES launched in September of 1987 in PAL A territories by Mattel (I'm basing this both on google and the appearance of NES advertisements/articles in old gaming magazines which I can find online). Mattel announced they had lost their distribution rights in the UK around February 1988 (estimate since news of this appeared in March issues of gaming magazines which are usually released at the end of the previous month) and was taken over by NESI UK (a company specifically designed to handle NES distribution) sometime in 1988. NESI ceased direct distribution sometime in 1989 whilst still functioning as marketing & customer service (?unconfirmed?), with Sans Serif Print Productions (aka. Serif) who were better known for board games handling distribution. Bandai took over in 1990 until Nintendo UK Ltd was founded in 1993. Distribution changed hands again in 1995 with THE Games, although I have yet to find evidence of any NES game being distributed by them.

According to contemporary sources Mattel released 27 games when the NES launched but no more (not surprising given that they lost their distribution rights within 6 months). Based on earliest advertising material, they'd be:

10-Yard Fight
Balloon Fight
Baseball
Clu Clu Land
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong 3 (unable to confirm)
Donkey Kong Jr. (unable to confirm)
Donkey Kong Jr. Math
Duck Hunt
Excitebike
Golf
Gumshoe (does not appear on early advertising, but have cited copies online that appear to be first print run Mattel)
Gyromite
Hogan's Alley
Ice Climber
Kung Fu
Mach Rider
Mario Bros.
Pinball
Popeye (unable to confirm - all cited listings are later than 1987)
Soccer
Stack Up
Super Mario Bros.
Tennis (unable to confirm - all cited listings are later than 1987)
Urban Champion
Wild Gunman
Wrecking Crew

Also, according to wikipedia Metroid was allegedly released "in Europe" in January 1988, but wikipedia isn't reliable when it comes to PAL releases. The earliest version I've found is NESI (meaning 2nd quarter 1988 at the earliest).
