    Hey,

This is my first time on this forum. How's it going? Anyways, I came here to ask.....what is the best, most safe way to boot games on the Wii? A friend of mine (he's into advanced hacking and stuff) recommended NeoGamma, but if someone knows anything better, please tell me...

    Anyways, that's not the part I'm confused about. After following the Neogamma link on this thread, Modify any Wii 4.2 and Below, it led me to this page;

    http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/ba...s/disc/neogamma

What would I do now? Is it just dragging-and-dropping the .dol file into my apps folder as according to this page or did they do something to system menu 4.2 where you can't do this anymore...
Oh yeah, by the way, I've already installed the HBC and have all my apps running off a USB. So if anyone could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    WarMachine

So I don't need any CIOS installers or whatever? Just drag and drop? And just out of curiousity, how come Neogamma isn't availible through the Homebrew Browser? Just curious...
Anyways, thanks for the speedy response =)

If you followed xzxero's guide, you have a cIOS already (rev17 to be exactly)
    So nope, no cIOS installers.

Its not available through HBB because its a backup launcher

    Why didn't you install Bootmii?
Now go back and follow the Complete Softmod Guide. Search for it.

I didn't think I needed it because whenever I googled modding, the HBC was the first thing that was there. I didn't think anything else was necessary. So I definitely need bootmii? Is there any way to get it from the HBB or something, because I don't have and SD card.

BootMii is necessary...sorta. BootMii allows you to recover from most Wii bricks if you fuck up too badly. It's basically a system restore (or that's how I think of it) for the Wii.

Alright, so do I just get an SD card and install it again? Assuming I do that real soon (I mean, I will, I just need to get the SD card), where do I go from there?

Do I even really need an SD card again though? Sorry to bump my own topic, but I'm curious now lol

Ok, I won't bump my own topic after this, but can someone tell me how to install bootmii? Can I just download it through the HBB or do I need to mod my Wii again, or is there a way I'm leaving out? Please help...

oh, you poor, sad little soul. BootMii is installed through the HackMii installer using BannerBomb. which requires a SD card. How did you get HomeBrew Channel without a SD card?

Don't patronize me...I'm not an idiot, okay? I already stated that I used my friend's SD card, but it was such a hassle. I was just asking if you could just simply get bootmii through the HBB.

you can run the hackmii installer without a SD card. get you noob hands on the hackmii installer. put it in USB:/apps/hackmii_installer/boot.elf. then you can start it with HBC.

but this does you no good. because you need a SD card to actually have bootmii make a nand backup.

Alright thanks. So there's no way around not having an SD card? BootMii can't just write the NAND to the USB drive? Thanks for the help though.

Thanks! Do I just remove the HBC and then follow the tutorial found on this forum exactly?
