NEO: The World Ends With You comes to PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive

After its launch on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in July, NEO: The World Ends With You is set to come to PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive on September 28. Neo is the long-awaited sequel to the 2007 Nintendo DS game The World Ends With You, which took fourteen years to receive a sequel. This release will mark the second exclusive Square Enix release on the Epic Games Store, following the release of the Kingdom Hearts series back in February.

Could go either way. Epic doesn't reveal drm as far as I know, but at minium it will likely have Epic drm and need activation through Epic or its equivalent. Bravely Default II, their recent release on Steam from a couple weeks ago, has Denuvo. Kingdom Hearts a release on Epic from a few months ago did not.

Do we know if this is a timed exclusive? I am wondering about the Kingdom Hearts games as well. It doesn’t seem like SquareEnix would limit there games to just one platform at this point, but perhaps Epic paid a good amount of money to keep it an exclusive.

If they brought the og TWEWY to PC, maybe I'd actually spare any attention to EGS.
Me thonketh the Android port is totally playable through an emulator, if you are willing to put up with mouse-only controls. The DS version should be totally playable too, but I imagine the multitasking might be even more painful than on an actual DS.

It's an awesome game. Buy it and forgot your hate for the EGS.
Ahahahaha no. I'll buy something from Epic when they admit publically the entire purpose of Project Liberty was to scam people into using their storefront(s) by making people think they're the good guys.

Can’t, I’m planning on getting a Steam Deck and I don’t want to buy any more games on different stores which seem perfect for it, at least until I see the alternatives stores running in Steam OS.

I think their end goal is to get EGS on iOS so they can basically do what they’ve been doing on PC, especially given their appeal despite winning devs the alternative payment option.

Would be funny, in a way, if they lost completely on appeal meaning that devs lose out completely.

Yes that was their endgoal, but the purpose, the method they'd reach that, was to delude people into thinking they cared and were righteous, thus leading to peer pressure on Apple to force them to acquiesce. In short, it was a scam to make people buy into their systems and ways.

There's always Yuzu too for the Switch version

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
