Hacking Need to get replacement Wii - how should I mod it?

My Wii died - it was hardmodded with yaosm a few years ago. I will pick up a used Wii or replacement drive. I plan on just playing my library of backed up discs. should I just softmod with ModMii or should I find out the best modchip to get depending on the drive version? thanks

hack ur wii with modmii.

The Wii Softmod guide sticky isn't too hard to follow either, but it seems that the hype is w/ mod mii, so thats another option.

If you want to do backup disc loading, you need an older disc drive. Newer Wii drives cannot play backup discs. If you get an older drive, you can either re-hardmod it or softmod it. If you plan on softmodding it, use ModMii.

Any Wii can do USB loading to play backups, which is what I recommend. In that case, use ModMii.
