How is it useless? I'm telling him what I think is a bad idea. I honestly don't care what he does (Or what people think.), he shouldn't go for that first in the first place. He should have maybe looked how on how to fix a broken screen, or, like many others have said, go the apple store.
But, that costs $$$!
Getting good things cost money. I fixed my own xbox's dvd drive using money I worked for. He can also go the apple store and most likely get it fixed if he acts nice and explain his situation.

>implying Apple products are good things
>implying Apple will do anything for free

no...just no

>beating a dead horse.

Never meant any of that.

>He want's a new one, implying that he likes them.

>Other people in this thread have said they've gotten them fixed for free by them, implying that maybe he could get it fixed for free, never said he could.

Besides, it really doesn't matter anymore.

might I make a suggestion so this never happens again? basically whenever you purchase an electronic device over 100ish get it at bestbuy and get a 1 year accidental damage warranty. the plans are decently priced and cover everything including what happened in your case. they will USUALLY give you a new device on the spot or they may send it out to try and get it fixed and if it doesn't/can't you get a new one free. I've gotten a free laptop, 550 dollars for another pc I've insured, a psp 3000 for a broken psp 2000 and several ipod touches. just wanted to put that out there

What about repairing the screen yourself? There are a lot of kits out there that allow you to do that, and you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

I love repairing stuff. Makes me feel like superwoman.

lol the ipods and psp all suffered the same fate. water damage e_e. I learned my bag wasn't completely water proof the hard way and I also learned that those Poland spring flip top bottles are terrible. don't really have an excuse for the laptop though

. unless damage because of loose screws is an excuse.
