you should take it to apple and hand it over to an employee, but just make it so they barely touch it and let it drop, then pick it up and be all "omg, you broke my ipod" - they'll replace it.

Yeah, god forbid someone has morals.

Morals =/= idiocy.

People so jacked on "doing the right thing" are pathetic morons. People need to stop blindly pretending their do-gooders and try instead to use their brain and think about a situation logically.

Such as the fact that Tagzard trying to get a free replacement will literally hurt no one. Not a soul. Apple wipes their asses with million dollar bills because their junk is so overpriced. The cost of an iProduct should cover 3 free replacements to be honest.

I do have a question for any preacher here though.
Do you pirate games ever?
Programs?
Anything. I'd like to know.

EDIT: and Frogman has a good idea. Most of the time Apple cares so little they'll probably just replace it for you anyways.

If you're trying to tell him he can't preach because he does it also, then it really shouldn't matter. Pirates can preach against piracy, there's nothing wrong with that.

Hypocrites are worse than preachers who at least follow what they preach.
No surprise, those are pretty much the only types of preachers, so it's really not saying much.

This thread is getting pretty off-topic.

Anyways, try getting it to the Apple store and see if they'll simply replace it. Because breaking something else while making sure it doesn't look like it's you who broke it is a pain in the ass.

I'm not preaching. It's fraud, it's illegal. I'm not saying to not do it, but if they were to find out he would get into a lot of trouble. If he were to think about it logically, then maybe thought of going to the apple store.

Ok, let me clarify something.

Apple isn't stupid. You can't send in an iPod saying that the Home Button is broken and that they should replace it, when they can easily see that the ENTIRE FREAKING SCREEN IS BROKEN.

The screen is broken, you can't change that fact. It's the undeniable proof that the damage was made by yourself and thus not under warranty.

They won't replace it, simple as that.

The only problem I have at the moment is the fact that the OP didn't come to ask for how to fix it, or ideas that might have been legitimate, but went straight for a fraud. The fraud itself, I don't really care about (hell I wanted to swap my DS's insides with my brother's and then have him return it for a brand new one, since I'm not pro enough to swap the L/R buttons myself).

If you broke your screen and then decided to also break your home button (On purpose mind you.) just to get a new ipod (Which could be illegal.)....

Anyone else seeing what I'm saying?
Yes..

But what are we seeing?

How do you fix a broken screen on an iTouch?

It doesn't really make sense to jump to THAT conclusion first when it seems so unlikely to be do-able.

You can fix a screen on a itouch, a simple google search would have told you that -_-

There's videos and tuts all on how to fix a cracked itouch screen.

If your screen is broken, Apple will know it fell. And if it fell, how do they know your home button didn't break in th fall?

They won't replace your device for free if it has a cracked screen.

Too lazy to google.
Does it require getting a new screen? I don't see how it'd be possible to fix without replacing the broken screen.
