I just bought a 3ds off ebay, everything is working but the speakers. This of course got me a good buy, $45 cad.

Now I'm just wondering what type of hardware issue it might be having because the headphone jack doesn't work as well.

I have another broken 3ds at home, Torn top screen flex cable and a few clamps missing, I plan on using it as parts to fix my speakers on the new system.

I'm not used to working on 3ds's and would love some opinions from some other techs that know their stuff, thanks.

It could be a broken off sound slider switch (insanely easy to do) which would be the most probable reason. Another possibility is some audio-pertinent component or circuitry was damaged. More than likely it was opened up and broken in the process or dropped.

I see, well when it arrives in the next week I will check out the sound slider. Hopefully it is as simple as that and I can swap it out for the one I have on the other broken ds.
