I just bought a New 2DS XL that has already been modded. I had intended to mod it myself so I could build it how I wanted from the ground up, but the price was too good on this one to pass on. I am not sure what to do from here. How do I make this "mine"? That is, remove traces of the previous owner (Nintendo account/Mii), clean up the home screen, add more 3ds/ virtual console games. The guide does not help me for this specific situation. I don't know if I can start the guide at a certain point with a clean SD card or if certain files have to stay.

It appears to be running Luma v10.3. It does have godmode9. I don't know much beyond that.

Any help would be appreciated and please bear with me as I am pretty unfamiliar with this console, even without the mods.

Follow this guide for removing CFW: https://3ds.hacks.guide/uninstall-cfw, then format the console in the Settings app.
What? Why?
The "Start from scratch!"-thing has caused so much issues and problems. The uninstall page even mentions this.

If you’re removing CFW because:
  • You want to re-install it
  • One of your games is broken
  • One of your system applications is broken
  • Your console is unable to boot to HOME Menu

STOP!!! Uninstalling custom firmware is an unnecessary risk that will at best waste your time and at worst BRICK your console.

"Format System Memory" is enough to wipe the previous user profile. Removing the B9S bootloader just to install… the B9S bootloader is… yeah, like they say on The Guide "in the best case a waste of time".
These two are enough to get everything working after official formatting option.

Oh, no, that is not what i meant by "start from scratch". I did not want to remove the CFW, just the steps after (i.e. removing the profilem, setting up the SD card). I think i got it figured out. Sorry for the confusion.
