Hacking Need some beginners help with flashcarts in general

So I plan to buy a DSi after I sell my Caanoo, and I'm obviously planning to get a Flashcart.

The DSi has an sd card slot, correct? Should I keep the 16gb card I bought for my Caanoo? Or am I even capable of using the card for flashcart purposes?

(It's standard SDHC, not micro)

And the golden question, which flashcart is the most capable? Most storage capability, compatible with everything on the homebrew scene(I'm not sure what I'm talking about, but I just want something that'll do everything)

Why is CycloDS so expensive compared to the rest? Are certain cards more "powerful"?

Price is no issue as long as it's not insane.

No you can't use the SD card slot.

It's pretty much the beast of the DS scene atm, it does almost everything other carts do plus much more.
It uses microSDs (both HC and non-HC)

Why is CycloDS so expensive compared to the rest?

It's called premium pricing.

But you need to get a cart that is DSi Compatible, If you just want to play games with no fancy features, I suggest the Acekard 2i $10-$15

If you want the current best of the best, get the Supercard DSTWO $35

and currently SD cards are not used in any homebrew or hacking situations.
So you need to get a MicroSD card for your new Flashcart

If I may elaborate:

1. Yes the DSi has the SD card slot, but it cannot be used for three reasons:

• A restriction of the DSi is that nothing can be booted from the SD slot after you've launched Slot-1
• Even if you could, no one has hacked the DSi sufficiently to enable this
• They're so big, they haven't been used in flashcarts since ~2006

2. Currently the god of flashcarts is the Supercard DS2. Refer to Rydian's chart for its specs etc. But for some (semi-)pointless information:

• A 360MHz ARM9 and I believe a 400MHz DP-S processors (I may be wrong on the DP-S)
• The fact that it features onboard processors will significantly drain battery life

If you can't afford the demi-insane $35, try the iSmart MM, which is an OEM purchase of the iPlayer, the predecessor to the DS2.

3. It's their fucked up business strategy. Relax, we think it's as retarded as you do.
