Hello,
I bought this New 3DS XL from eBay for quite cheap ( 55 € ) as it was listed as broken. So I decided to buy it and fix it cuz I thought it wouldn't be hard
as I fixed a couple of electronics. But after I received it I opened it and looked at the mainboard and it seems that a couple ZIF-Connectors ( I believe they are ZIFs, correct me if I'm wrong) are damaged. Also some ribbon cables looked damaged and bent too hard. I also noticed after researching around the internet that the WiFi antenna is missing.
As to the listing the seller wrote that he went to a "specialist" and got the upper display replaced but after that it stopped working after.
Well looking at the ribbon cables the "specialist "did a shitty job.

Also before I opened the 3DS I charged it for around 45 minutes and tried to power it on but nothing happened. Only the orange light is glowing but this only happens if the battery is in and the charging cable is plugged in.

I want to get this 3DS fixed and thought of buying an intact motherboard, upper screen and a wifi antenna and replace them.
Would a motherboard replacement work and be feasable?
If you have any suggestions as to what I should with, tell me.

There are too many things that could be wrong with that n3DSXL. Unless you had another working n3DSXL to use as a donor, the only way you'll know what parts work or not is by doing A/B testing with swapped parts. You can try to examine closely for broken leads in flex cables using a magnifying glass but might not find anything obviously broken.

You could try buying several suspected replacement parts, but you won't know they'll fix the multitude of unknown issues this n3DSXL has. As much as I would like to see this n3DSXL fixed, you're basically paying and gambling money that may net you a still broken n3DSXL that would have cost you buying a working used one.

If you're not readying to straight up lose 100–150€, you should reconsider selling this system for scraps.

Hi! I am back!

Some may say its stupid to fix this thing and I agree but I just thought f*ck it lets try to fix it!

So a couple of weeks ago my friend told me he had an old New 3DS XL lying around his parents home and I asked him give the 3DS and he agreed. So now I had a donor 3DS and I swapped the mainboard because on mine some of the ZIF connectors were f*cked. And magically for whatever reason the thing went from not turning on to showing the blue light but it quickly fades away after some seconds.
I have no idea whether his 3DS had a CFW or not but I will ask him later.

So if you have any suggestion on how to fix it please tell me!

Format the SD card in FAT32 + 32 KB cluster. Put the Luma3DS v9.1 boot.firm on the card root. Insert card into the 3DS, turn it on, and hold (Select). If his was hacked, you should see the Luma3DS v9.1 configuration.

@TurdPooCharger thanks for the advice!
But after trying your method the blue light still faded away but I noticed the bottom screen flashed for a tenth of a second, so I decided to replace my broken top screen.
I don't know why I had this idea but I'm lucky that I did because after I replaced my screen with the donor one everything worked and I felt like a child getting his Christmas present.

Sadly I broke the hinge, the cables connecting the speaker with the boards and the WiFi cable but besides that everything works smoothly.

Thread can now be closed.
