Need Help. Wii Black Screen, seems bricked, but priiloader is installed and not working.

Got this wii orignially from a friend who softmodded it way back when. They were complaining saying it was freezing and whatnot. They gave it to me saying i could have it. Sure enough I powered it on, and had the homebrew channel on it,and various other apps such as usb loader gx, and whatnot. seemed to work, kinda. I tried to launch the homebrew channel, and immedieatley got a crash. Tried it again, same thing. SO, i thought i'll just try reinstalling the homebrew channel as well as bootmii. I did that, did a bootmii backup, and reinstalled the homebrew channel as well as bootmii as IOS. (I couldn't install it as boot2) So, I tried launching the homebrew channel, and it worked once, but after that crash crash crash. At some point I decided to try reinstalling CIOS to see if that would help, rather that posting what was wrong here on the forums, which I really really should have done. Anyway, things went from bad to worse, as I sucessfully launched and ran d2x cIOS Installer. I followed the instructions from https://wii.guide/cios. It sucessfully installed. However, just when I thought i was in the clear, i exited the d2x cios app, and the wii froze. After force shutting it down, and starting it back up it gave a black screen. Uh oh. I immedeatly tried rebooting, and same thing. Black screen. Now, I do have priiloader installed, but I can't seem to get it to load up. When i try holdind down reset and turning on the power, i still get a black screen. I've done this over 2 dozen times, and once it did load up, but then froze when i tried to launch a title from the title selector. Is there anything that can be done, or am I SOL. Again, I know priiloader is installed, I just can't seem to get to it. I do have a backup but since bootmii is installed as IOS, it won't do any good. My question is, is there any other way of booting priiloader, and if i do somehow get priiloader up, what steps i should try next?
Please asvise if there is an alternate way of getting to priiloader. Thanks

OK, so update. I'm in priiloader. Seemed to come up after I removed the CMOS battery waited an hour, then plugging everything back in. could be just a coincidence, I'm not sure. Anyway, now what? does anyone have any advise to offer? Should i try restoring the bootmii backup i made in bootmii ios?

Sounds like it might be a hardware issue. But assuming for a moment it us somehow software related, the issue would also be reflected in the nand backup you made, since the issue was present at that time. To rule out software issues, you can construct a new virgin nand.bin using ohneschwanzenegger, just feed it your broken nand backup so it can use it to build you a new nand unique to your console. Then flash it using bootmii. Note that after restoring this virgin nand, it will not have any modifications (except bootmii boot2 if installed, which it isn’t), so you will not have access to priiloader any longer, at least until you manage to reinstall it.

Well, so much for the one time priiloader. I accidently turned off my power strip last night, without realizing my wii was plugged into it. After I made this mistake, I tried holding the reset button and turned on the wii. Nothing but a black screen. I tried again, and same thing. Dam. I just tried again this morning after leaving the wii unplugged all night, and same thing black screen. Anyway, I did manage to get ohneschwanzenegger to produce a new nand, but with no way to load it, i guess i am SOL. Also, whats the likelyhood this is hardware related? I've never opened up this wii, nor replaced any components. How likely is this that it's a hardware issue. Originally when i received this wii, the homebrew channel was installed, along with other homebrew related channels, but they would randomly just freeze the wii or give dsi exceptions when trying to load. Now it's just giving a black screen, after my attempts of fixing the problem with d2x cios installer. In the case I'm ever able to get priiloader back up, i'll try restoring my virgin nand backup via bootmi IOS.

It would be hilarious if this was the problem, but is your reset button maybe stuck?

It would be hilarious, but alas I just took off the front cover to make sure. It's not the problem. I tested 4 times holding down the reset button with the cover off via a paperclip, and then powering the wii via the power button. Still got the dreaded black screen. there was a bit of dust that was on the cover, but blowing that off via a can of compressed air didn't help either.


Another question, if it is software, but the system menu doesn't work, is there any chance an entrypoint such as bluebomb could help? is it even worth trying? From what i read i think bluebomb requires a working system menu to use, correct?

I think bluebomb can also be used from within games, u just need to load a different "stage" depending on the game selected

See if you can use the savemiifree method to launch into a game, ideally one with an exploit like smash bros. I don't think it will work, but u could try if u have the time and energy
