So right before I traded in my wii to get my new wii-u I decided it was a good idea to back up my saves.
I first tried SavegameManager GX but it failed on several saves that mattered to me.
So I then tried SavegameManager, it worked without issue and backed up all 63 of my saves.
Now I have my wii U (the wii is gone) and after modding and making sure CFg worked I decided it was time to restore the saves.
First I tried SavegameManager since it was what made the backups.
It Froze at a black screen with a ton of error codes.
So i figured ok, lemme see if GX can at least restore what it couldn't back up. It acted like it restored them but then the error log said "Unable to SetUID" on every single save.
Anyone know a way I can restore these saves or did I just lose thousands of hours of gameplay time!?

One last note: I used savegame manager GX mod found here:
Savegame Manager GX works

How to use

Run the application and select the save you would like to copy to or from your Wii.
  • Note: This app requires cIOS 249 revision 9 or higher; Or IOS58 installed.
  • A save game must already exist on the Wii to restore saved games. Play the game once and create a save file before restoring a save game using installer mode.

Do you have a save game already on your Wii-U of the same game saves you're trying to transfer?

Savegame Manager (v1.0) needs cIOS249 and it should be no problem
to load in vWii as long as cIOS249 d2x v10-vWii is installed.
(I have verified)

Also I tried to use Savegame Manager v1.0 to extract several saves
from my Wii then used either Savegame Manager v1.0 or Savegame Manager
GX to install them to my vWii. All worked !!

I missed the part about saves needing to be present already... Damn that means I gotta boot up all 63 games and play long enough to save...

Did you require saves to already be present with Savegame Manager v1.0?

No matter I extract saves from my Wii or existing saves in my SD card,
it's no problem to use either Savegame Manager v1.0 or Savegame Manager GX
to install to my vWii.

BTW, you may use 2GB (or less) SD card to load Savegame Manager v1.0
otherwise it may not read the saves from SD card.

Interesting. Would you be so kind as to provide a link to Savegame Manager v1.0?
I can't seem to get my homebrew browser working either...

Well thanks for all the help guys.
Savegame Manager v1.0 still wouldn't create the saves without booting the game so I just spent over an hour loading every game that I wanted to keep saves on...
I also had this weird phenomena after I loaded every game. When I went back into the save manager and only one of my wiimotes worked... The one I was using just wouldn't respond in the app, much like how the newer wiimotes don't work in some homebrews, except this wiimote was an older one and was working before booting said games.... Whatever for now I guess cuz one of them still worked.

Thanks for the help again guys.

EDIT: Last thought, for those of you using savegame manager v1.0 doesn't come with instructions but the saves must be in a folder called savegames on the root of your SD card or USB device.
Just figured I'd put this on here for anyone who comes across this and may need assistance.
