Hey guys, with modmii and the internet at my disposal, all I need is some help to know how install the same exact ioses from my wii to my friend's wii. My friend is now able to use a usb loader, but has issues runnings games. From what we've tried, Twilight princess has numerous graphical glitches and Super Mario Galaxy 2 starts and hangs at a black screen. My wii however seems to work perfectly fine, and I'm grateful for it, so I did a syscheck to see what version ioses I had but I forgot what cIOSs WADs I used. So I'm asking help from the community to help me find the appropriate installations to match my ios setup mostly, or partially to get his games running fine.

I should also note that my friend's wii is newer, so I was wondering even if we had the same IOSes would our hardware matter?

you friend's wii was modded using Mauifrog's guide (or so it appears because of the presence of IOS90)

...if you want the same cIOSes as he's got, just go to MauiFrog's guide over at wii hacks and install the cIOS wads from his download package...

ahhh...i bet the 21004 versions on 249/250 are causing the problems.... ...just reread your post: can't be that if the loader launches fine

    what loader are you using?

have you tried using your HDD on his wii...to verify it's not bad dumps of the games?

No sir, we're using usb configurable loader, but it works fine for me. And yes, his flash drive my flash drive works. They're not bad dumps, I'm sure. We own the game, but downloaded it elsewhere since I can't trust loader rips.

Your friend is running d2x4, you are running r17. I would update both to d2x6, base56 and 57. I don't know how your friend got that ios90, nothing else looks like it is from my guide except ios16. Looks like he ran my guide, then he ran modmii.
Does his HD and sd card work without issue on your wii?

He did run modmii, twice in fact, it failed the first time around and the second time fixed the game-loading. His SD card and flash drive read, everything seems fine but games are glitchy and some refuse to load, whereas mine works just fine. His SD card and flash drive work just fine on mine.

redo his wii using modmii's wizard, tell it that his is a virgin, download all the ios/cios. an run the wads as batch download, let it finish, then run system check, on his. an keep yours then compare side by side. ios 90 could be causing problems. [IMG]

I know what ios90 does. It is not useless, at least someday it may not be useless. It is a patched system ios with the assumption that the next system menu could run on ios90. If the next system menu did run on ios90 and you where stupid enough to update your wii, you could use ios90-v54321 to rehack the wii assuming other exploits where unavailable. It would also prevent any error 003 bricks or possibly similar bricks from an update to any future system menu.\

IOS90-v54321 is cios60-v6174, patched with trucha, rev13 DIP + ES_Identify Patch. Taken from cioscorp 3.6. So a wii with a compatible dvd drive can simply load a recovery disc running on ios90.

I would keep ios90, it sure as hell is not causing your friends wii any issues.

I don't think your friends issue has anything to do with his softmod, everything in his syscheck looks good. How old is his wii? Perhaps he is having some hardware issues. Your friend already ran my softmod guide, then he ran modmii twice, so the issue can not be with the softmod.

I recently had a similar issue with one of my wiis. It was working fine, then nothing but black screens on game loading. This wii had a chip installed (which could be dead), I puled the chip and everything is back as it should be.

the only reason why i'm saying get rid of 90. is because , his wii is working with no 90, an looks more like most of the wii's after running syscheck, after modding. so if he want to carbon copy his friends wii to his. then do that . an see what happens. then if he wants 90, he can add it later. thats how i would do it.
i know nothing about chips ,so no idea on that.

first off, i didn't repost anything, second, if you had been reading. so far he modded three times. once with mauifrog's guide, then he used modmii twice. i tell anyone with these same problems the same thing. use modmii, alot of these problems can be solved with that . an if it is a repeat then it's me repeating myself. so who's the smart one, the one who reads the post, an knows whats going on, or one who just gets on to say some thing they have no idea on whats going on.
    peace be with you. [IMG]
