Hacking Need help getting Region Locked Blurays to play using Multiman/Webman

Hey guys
I have a PS3 slim capable of running Hen. I have tried to get a Region A Blu-Ray to play and have tried both Webman and Multiman.

On Webman the issue seems to be that the Region changes aren't saved properly. I can change the Region. but even after restarting the PS3, the setting isn't saved and naturally, I can't play the BluRay.

On Multiman, I can "play" the BluRay after changing BD region, but playing it just exits to the XMB Menu and if I try from there, I just get a screen saying the BluRay can only be played on a Region a PS3.

Is this really only possible with real CFW (Rebug etc.)?

One solution may be to dump the disc to an iso and then extract/convert it on a pc using something like makemkv.

Thanks for the tip. I will think of this as a last-resort, I was hoping for a solution involving only the PS3 itself.
