Here's what I did:
1) Downloaded the save (http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/save/pokemon_emerald_s.sps)
2) Imported it in VBA and saved normally, creating a .sav
3) Used outphase's convertor to convert the new .sav to a .0
4) In the U-DISK Manager, I right clicked the old .0 and wrote the new converted one to it.
5) Started up Emerald on my G6, but after the title screen, it said "The save file has been erased due to corruption or damage," and there is no option to continue a game.
6) If I start a new game and save, then reset the DS, then start Emerald again, my new 0:00 save works fine, with no kind of error message after the title screen.
7) If I go back into the U-DISK Manager after that and rewrite the .0 save I want over all three saves, then start Emerald again, my 0:00 save still shows up.
Do I need a different .ips patch for Emerald or something? I've read through multiple other topics and still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
EDIT: Alright, I figured it out. I had the save type on VBA set to Flash 64K instead of Flash 128K. Seems pretty obvious now... >_>
