Hi guys. I came to turn on my wii today, and it only shows a black screen! I can get into preloader, but not into system menu! It was working fine last weekend, and now its not? Is it a brick, and how can I fix it? I can still boot into preloader.

If that is the case, then try and boot anytitledeleter from Preloader and remove offending WAD

nope. I was playing metroid prime for wii, shut it off, then went off. I did install cioscorp wads though, but it booted back just fine. Also installed a custom mIOS after that. Last thing i did was start up action replay GC, then shut off the wii.

oh, your back. just reinstall preloader, cIOScorp give you a system files corrupt message if you have preloader installed.

ok the weirdest shit is going on right now. I switched to ios 61, got the system corrupt error. switched back to ios 60, everything works again? Got unable to load mii channel data. then i clicked on wii shop channel, and ios 60 doesn't work again. Im getting the feeling that my nand is really dirty and sloppy. HOw can i go about cleaning it up and getting the shop channel to work again? Running 4.0u ios60 right now.

you go about it by REINSTALLING preloader!

do that first, then try it.

installing cIOScorp over preloader can cause odd problems. hence why almost every guide out there says to install preloader again after installing cIOScorp.

If it still doesn't fix your particular problem, then we'll go from there.

erm, still getting strange lock ups. Best to use anyregionchanger to go to 3.2, then back up to 4.0 with waninkoko patch?

    alright, here is my advice.

    Rehack your wii.

    1. downgrade to 3.2 using IOS downgrader

    2. use nandclean

    3. Install bootmii as boot2 at this point, and make a nand backup.

    4. install cIOs rev10 or Rev13b, your call.

    5. Update using wanikoko's updater.

    6. Install the IOS60 patch.

    7. Install cIOScorp if you really want to play backups via the disc channel that badly (useless in my opinion)

    8. Install preloader 2.9

If all went well, do a new nand backup.

actually, I'll throw together a little package with all the tools if you can wait a few minutes.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your reasoning for the 'usesless' remark in point 7?
