I need help choosing a new or refurbished laptop. I don't have a lot of money so preferably a budget laptop would be nice. I want something that is at least dual core, 2GB of ram, and can play some non-high end games, such as Mabinogi and Second-Life. My POS right now can't. I just want something more high end than a netbook but not super expensive, any ideas? Thank you for reading if you did.

Well right now I got $250 saved up, my max will probably be at $500. Also whats better an ATI® Radeon™ 3100 or an Intel GMA x4500HD.
I was looking at the Dell Inspiron 1545, looks like one of the goods ones for its price, being budget and all.

just remember with dell, you can haggle with them over the phone to get the price dropped and freebies thrown in. don't expect much more than 10% off though.

    I did not know that.
Just to ask freebies like what? And can I haggle on refurbished ones?

it was a few years ago I last ordered from dell, but from my memory, after speccing out my laptop to the Indian over the phone, when he gave me the price, I asked him something like "is that the best you can do?" and when he gave me the second price I asked something like "are you sure". got some off the price and a free copy of M$ office that I didn't want. its worth noting that the laptop I was ordering was about £700 ($1400 at the time) however.

    no idea about refurbished ones.
