need advice on how to get r4 3ds to work

so when i insert my r4 it doesn't have any icon on my 3ds. is it dead?

Try cleaning the cartridge contacts with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, then try reinserting it.

the issue wasnt the cart. its just that i forgot how to enter the gateway which was in the settings. i think i need to find the red cart to get my games lol

Did you put the r4 files on the r4? Maybe that's the issue (don't worry it also happened to me) but your R4 isn't dead.
