Yes, I saw the image data thing and it was disabled, but I didn't use that. And I can assure you none of my .nds files are damaged in any way. But yes, it wasn't really a crash, but simply not booting appears to be a crash I guess.

Ok, I uploaded a new beta. If you can replace the background now, I'll give up (at least for a while :P)

The results are frankly scary, but hey, it works.

Apparently this time you checked the size of the EXE itself, and removed the TImage thing from being used. I have trimmed one file, it took 0.02 seconds, and is functioning fine.

What's your computer specs?

Mine's good but far from top-end:

AMD X2 4600+ Dual Core,
4GB DDR2-800 Corsair TwinX, (can only use 3.12 in 32bit tho)
then SATA2 disks.
and using Vista Ultimate 32bit
(the rest of hardware doesn't play any role in the trimming speed, only cpu and ram speed)

This a great little utility. My 2 cents, which probably aren't worth a damn, but hey...

I'd make the background a little less risque for those that share their computer with others and don't want to portray a certain image. It's great to have options, or skins, but a plain blue background or something like that, at least to me, would be a lot better for the above reasons.

Full-window/Full-screen view. It would be nice to maximize the screen, and have a visible scrollbar, especially for people with a large amount of files to trim.

Not really needed, but would be interesting:
Icon viewer. Just a graphical step up, but if implementation would be too hard, forget about it.
Region dupe, list via CRC check the same applications from various countries. This would be helpful to those that compare different versions or are working on a fullset. I'm not in either group, but I could see how that could benefit members of the community.

Once again, thank you for this awesome program!

Thanks for the feedback!

Not sure about full screen since it won't match the background, there will definitely be a scrollbar though; the problem with that right now is properly handling canvas updates with a transparent listbox (so the background doesn't get fucked up).

Icon viewer: already working on that, as a sepparate (embedded) tool, not during trimming though since that would break the current speed which can be even less than 1 second for a few roms :)

About the region thing.. dunno, I think there are good apps out there atm for that, managers and organizers etc, but ill see..

As for the background, I have that planned too, but before that I want to make sure the current exe can't be modified to remove it. So far it can't be replaced, only removed. Next build will be encripted and module pointers will replace loaded procedures at run-time, so that the bg can't be removed either.. aka.. the program will be fully encripted on disk and decript itself at runtime, so that you can't hex edit stuff anymore with the program on disk by dissasembling it.

My computeris amazingly old.

The HDD of my computer when empty is 15.5GBs.

The ram is about 256 mb.

Pathetic, i know, but i got it 5 years ago!
Im getting a new one for christmas, with 120gb RAM and 2gb ram.

Glad to know it's still fast on older computers :)

My Intel Mobo is so picky about RAM it's currently not worth it to buy more than my 2 1 gig sticks @ 800 speed. I'm really impressed with the speed of this application. To explain how I'm using it, I have applications that need trimmed in a folder on the C drive and then transfer them directly to I think the F drive (built in MicroSD reader), so it take a little bit longer I think that if I was simply trimming as the write speeds to MicroSD aren't super fast, but more than adequate.

Try trimming them straight in the microSD drive, with the beta overwrite method, it will still be super fast there like it was a normal drive
