200 releases huh, both major thanks and congratulations are in order.
As for non Japanese crossword games I seem to recall a homebrew one was made although I can not remember where or when.
The GBA on the other hand has 4 or 5 crossword titles with ultimate puzzle games being one of the best, Telegames (the people behind the Ultimate XXXXXX games series) should also be coming to the DS so you may see one someday (cards and brain games are their first titles according to their site)

It's official : all puzzle games have to be release in blocks of 3 or else they aren't following the hipe , just sad they are as big as a blockbuster like my grandmom's puzzlebooks.
