The Negima anime is being redone by the same people that did Pani Poni Dash (it's supposed to be more faithful to the manga), and this game appears to be based on the new anime, not the old one.

Edit: The first anime was called "Mahou Sensei Negima" (Magic Teacher Negima), but the new one is just "Negima!?", hence my reasoning above.

No, this new anime is even less faithful to the manga than the previous one. It's going to be it's own story. They even have new Pactio cards. Actually, I believe the game itself came with one of them, Makie's armor card I think.
