BTW: If you want a decent remake / sequel, wait for IMPOSSIBLE MISSION, LAST NINJA and CALIFORNIA GAMES for your DS. SYSTEM 3 has bought the rights for some EPYX games. Looking forward to those.

Holy CRAP, I miss this game. My sister and I used to play this for hours at a time on NES when we were kids. Oh, the memories

what a shame. There was a Bubble Bobble arcade machine in the shop my granma worked at when I was a kid, and I played it for hours on end sometimes. they totally butchered one of my favourite childhood gaming memories

Didn't notice how the game saves exactly but I think classic mode is excellent with terrific sound. I did enjoy the GBA version a lot....the one with new graphics and collecting different items....however the sound was nowhere near as nice and the sprites seem a little less squished on this version. Just wish I could remove the crappy new stuff to save space on my cart.

The classic version is good, until you realise that the game is slightly different that the original with respects to how your character moves. By about level 18, finishing each round will become near impossible without guaranteed loosing a few men in game play... but I was glad that the game saves at each level completion.

At (or around) level 24, there is a level which I found so impossible to complete because of the honorable handling mechanics, that I had to just put the game down and got back to the GBA version (#881-EU, #1670-US).

Bubble Bobble was great fun when I used to play it on my Famicom

But woah, I think that boxart's designed to scare off the younger players than attract them

ooh.....the classic mode is awesome neato

I think the reason they put the classic mode in first is cos the new age mode is weak
If u guys didn't notice....

It's funny to read so many people talking about this game on their NES when I remember playing the original arcade it on my Commodore 64 (do you guys even know what that was?). Makes me feel old! waah.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
