Is this the same game as on the NES?
Wonder why the US got it so late.
Ah well, another excuse if you missed it first time, this is epic nostalgic win.
Rainbow Islands Revolution is an update of a Rainbow Islands, the sequel to Bubble Bobble
Oh man!! I remember this. It's got very high potential, but it's Sooooo NOT fun!
Bubble Bobble was cool...
oh, I thought for a second that this was Yoshi's Island..
No, they butchered it horribly.
Seconded. I loved Taito's old platformers of the Bubble Bobble / Rainbow Islands / New Zealand Story ilk, but this...blech! Wasted potential is right. The controls are so clumsy as to render this barely playable, and the clever strategic uses you could put the rainbows to in the original is just gone. I'm sticking with MAME for the superior arcade version, thank you, with the NES version emulated for portable use.
The problem with this was that if you build your rainbow, YOU CANNOT MOVE!!! DUH!
Hmmwell, we'll wait for TNZS DS then eh?
Hope to see THE NEW ZEELAND STORY DS soon.
Even if it was a port of the original I doubt it would be as NES version had very different levels. Anyway, terrible game (this version) nothing like the original very pointless, hate this game.
Looking forward to New Zeland Story, but reports are that the DS specific bits ruin it, lets hope that theres a "classic" mode on that.
I believe the PAL version will be released at the end of October.
This one truly sucks I'd rather play the original.
I agree it horribly, it not like the way you jump on platform and make rainbow...
I remember THE NEW ZEELAND STORY on my C64 (yellow bird with arrow) how could i forgot anyway thank!
This game indeed sucks royally !
Was so disappointed they didn't put in a "Classic" mode so you could at least play it properly
how do you guys get the game so fast?
#0393 - Rainbow Island Revolution (EU)
I've not played the game yet, may have played the EU version but it mustn't have been that good or I would have remembered it. This was a great game on the Amiga trust codemasters to do what they do best and bugger up the remake. The only decent game codemasters have done lately is sensible soccer and they released the wrong version of the game they should have done sensible world of soccer.
