It says "COOL!" when you get a word correct. How COOL is that!
What is the difference between 1800 and 1900?! Why those numbers?! O.o
1800 and 1900 are the number of words for vocabulary building.
What's different is that Chuugaku Eitango Target 1800's vocabulary is um... targetted at Junior High students while Eitango Target 1900 is a little more for adults.
So adults learn a hundred English words more? Oh, the challenge!
Funny how the children get a lovely guitar playing dog on the cover while the adults get a creepy hyena type of thing. Probably quite effective to scare children away and make them buy the other version...
Actually, they aren't learning more because 1900 > 1800. It's a different set of vocabulary for each version.
For example the Eitango Target 1900 has a set of 'business' terms and uses them in sentences that focuses in business-like situations. Other sets for example, relate to law or medical terms I think. A junior high student will not need these as much as an adult. The Chugake version on the other hand, focuses more on vocabulary to be learnt and used at school.
Shit. I thought these were hunting games.
All your base are belong to us .. Let's learn Engrish ..

the beast on the cover gives me a boner
Yeah me too!
I thought you had to shoot animals and if you missed the dog on the other cover would show up and laugh at you. Duckhunt style.
