Downloaded, Thanks.

I've played the JPN version for a bit, and really liked it. Good to see the translated version released.

When are people going to get that hardware limitations have no bearing on style, save for in 2D?

Also, DS doesn't have some horrible 2-polygons-in-front-of-you draw distance. I doubt it actually has any technical limitation on how far away objects/terrain can be. It's all in software. Polygons limits are a technical limitation, not draw distance.(In the case of the DS, it's not even really a polygon limit, though, is it? I recall reading that it's more of a vertex limitation.)

Anyone who says the DS can't do 3D hasn't played Mario Basket 3on3. That games engine should be used for a SSMB game its so good!

It's a shame, really. Tenchu has completely struck out on both handhelds. This, DS, version will generate poor reviews also; makes it look unlikely that their will ever be a sequel to either one.

But if the sequels were going to be as bad as this... does anyone really loose?

I put many a hours onto my psx (Jap) Tenchu disc years ago. It's really too bad that the only thing that seemed to be ported over correctly to the DS/PSP versions was the name.

I'm getting it for free to review for Nintendo so I for one can't wait to try and and I happily blow off all the stupid criticism it gets until I see for myself.

I for one really liked the original and was mostly warm to the sequel on PSX too. I haven't touched it since but did hear some unkind stuff about all the things since so I could care less.

I will say that 'z' guy up there is a moron though if he thinks this game is some masterpiece on how the DS hardware sucks. Sounds more like a closeted PSP asskisser making a very lame fantasy observation to start a fight instead of basing any info on reality or fact.

Nothing to do with the power of DS hardware, but this game blow chunks man. The view sucks, you can't adjust it, and the enemies are plain stupid. Nothing like the original one on PSone.

But the DS does have power to do nice 3d games....of course let's not compare it to the psp....that's like comparing a jackfruit to a apple.

Super Mario 64DS did 3rd person damn good on the so called "weak hardware". Blame the developer and not the hard ware itself. Well all know how many PSP games sux so hardware means nothing.
I so much agree with you. Smart programming fixes a lot. I thought Mario64 was massive, and they even managed to keep it 16 MB!

just a "wifi market" to trade items...
I'm so disappointed, being a real Tenchu fan.
I'm glad I tried this game because I would have been gutted if I had bought it.

I just finished this game.

I really liked it, the combo traps is very satisifying when you pull it off.

I suggest other to give it a try.
