Perhaps it relates to the WiFi connection, hence the global background thingy

What I don't like about the box is the big text labelling "Metroid Prime Hunters", with it stretching across the whole background

Yes I believe the 24 means that 24hrs a day you can find someone to play on WiFi.

Probably because everyone's already talked about the game to death about a year ago when the English version got released. So at least the Western world gets the bigger well-known games in English first

I prefer the Western version's boxart. This one looks too plain. It looks as if they put the grey "Metroid Prime Hunters" in the background because they had nothing else to put there.

The bottom text says, "Battle it out with players around the world, 24 hours. Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection." So does that mean Japanese players will be able to play against Western players?

Sorry, don't use the Wi-Fi feature so I don't know.

I'm fairly certain that it won't really sell well in Japan. The metroid series hasn't been a hot seller in Japan, IIRC.
