Not an amazing week but some interesting titles anyway. A bit of a casual gaming fest unfortinatly but lets face it there are more "core" games out than usual anyway so still enjoy the good times.

Read to know when a game could be dumped:
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I love you with stealth.

Region North America Genre: 3D action
Developer: Zoo Games Publisher: DSI Games

Remember this series? Sucked didn't it? Well ok I kinda didn't mind the overhead PC ones but the 3D games sucked major balls. For some reason DSI/Zoo Games have decided to buy the series and bring it back. So as usual DSI/Zoo get release another game based on a license that no one wanted.

Assume the role of Timmy, mini action adventure hero, and fight the forces of evil in "Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune." Timmy's Tan Army Men action figures have run amok, capturing his Green Army Men, and attempting to take control of his little slice of suburbia! It's up to you to defeat the enemy, save your toys and family, and restore order to your home! The house is your playground as you control a 3 inch tall Timmy and a slew of toy weaponry to keep his tan Army Men from achieving "Global Home Domination." You'll never look at your toys the same again...

So this time you don't even play as the green guys! Way to go guys, I hope you go bankrupt soon.

Originally a Bullfrog game and then EA bought Bullfrog (as they do) and then released on the DS in Japan earlier this year. For some reason EA are letting someone else publish this outside of Japan.

Populous pioneered the God simulation genre. Featuring touch-screen controls that utilize the dual-screens, players manipulate 5 elementally-imbued gods, each with their own unique miracles, within an extensive single-player campaign. Within the multiplayer wireless mode, up to 4 players can unleash earthquakes, tidal waves and raging volcanoes onto rival players' lands.

The Japanese version was hacked with some English and I had a quick go and fount it to be a decent port.

Region North America Genre: Dino Battling
Developer: Ubisoft Publisher: Ubisoft

Being Ubisoft, you'd think it would be called Dinzsuarz.

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs brings all the mysteries, wilderness and variety of the world of dinosaurs to Nintendo DS. In the game each player will have the opportunity to incarnate the dinosaur he prefers. Pick a favourite out of 26 different species, from the ravenous predator to the witty scavenger, and defend your territory in nine different maps, each with unique features and all-new threats. Customize your dinosaur using special eggs earned through victories in combat, earning new thorns, feathers and bones that will make yours the strongest dinosaur.

A player's objective in Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs is to fight and win against other dinosaurs using a unique and highly intuitive combat system based on dexterity and entirely controlled with the stylus. A multiplayer mode gives players the opportunity to fight against each other two ways: one-to-one Quickmatch or complete Tournament, with up to eight players!

Being a casual Ubisoft game it might be crappy but I dunno, maybe its worth trying.

Meh yet another Naruto game.

Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 gives players a portable outlet for their inner ninja. A deep, original storyline allows players to access over 30 major characters from the series, from standards such as Naruto and Sakura to unlikely allies like the weapon-based Tenten. The improved and intuitive battle system makes it easy for even the newest fighters to get into the combat, using the DS Touch Screen to unleash devastating melee and jutsu attacks on any opponent foolish enough to get in their way. The new Squad Leader and Ninja Tag systems provide even more squad-building options, while the Wi-Fi multiplayer feature offers aspiring ninja the chance to take on challengers from around the world.

Well I guess someone wants this.

Region North America Genre: Rhythm
Developer: HB Studios/Zoe Mode Publisher: Konami

Way back in the 90's Konami invented the guitar rock game with Guitar Freaks, then many years later Harmonix ripped off the idea and made it popular and now Konami are cashing in.

Release your inner rock star or allow your friends the privilege of picking up an axe or pounding the skins with you to 40 mind-bending rock and roll tracks! Unleash your creative juices in the Jam Mode where you can create your own music in a state-of-the-art multitrack studio! This is the musical revolution the world has been waiting for!

* Choose between drums, bass, guitar and vocal
* Rhythm-based gameplay uses stylus gestures for rhythm matching
* Complete combos to see your character pull off moves like scissor kicks
* Customizable venues allow users to unlock stage props like fireworks displays and laser shows
* Get together with your friends and play songs as a band or against one another via wireless
* Power-up your character and band with new picks, sticks, and amps
* Choose from 20+ songs to rock out too
* Choose between multiple modes for the ultimate Rock Revolution experience
* Co-op Mode (Multiplayer, 2-4 players) - Create a band with your friend or join a band that’s looking to hire
* Battle Mode (Multiplayer, 2–4 players) - Go head to head with your friends and family

Unlike GH:OT there is no guitar add on, instead it relies on buttons and touch screen. Maybe lacking for some but it could turn out like Taiko Drum Master...who knows.

Region North America Genre: Platform
Developer: HB Studios/Zoe Mode Publisher: THQ

Anyone noticed that a lot of games that were previously 3D are now 2D?

Tak finds himself exhausted from trying to help everyone in his village. He decided to use his Juju magic to create little helpers called Hackies. But when these little critters became unruly and then unexpectedly multiplied into hundreds, they invaded both the Pupununu village and the Juju realm causing havoc and devastation. Now Tak must do all he can to get rid of the troublemakers and restore balance to both worlds!

Cast spells and mix alchemical ingredients, flip the DS sideways to play in the magical Juju realm, share ingredients with other players to create special spell "recipes", Dodge Ball Mini Game, Chase Mini Game & Block Buster Mini Game. Anyone else prefer it if developers concentrated more on the main game then stupid mini games?

The last one was in 3D and this one is 2D, I guess they have low hopes for the franchise so they cut development costs. Could be decent, THQ have been improving recently.

Region Japan Genre: RPG/Dungeon Crawler
Developer: Artoon/Mistwalker Publisher: AQ Interactive

From Artoon (the meh Pinobee, the bad Yoshi tilty thing & the good Yoshi's Island DS & Blinx games) and also Mistwalker (Blue Dragon Plus, ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat & Lost Odyssey) comes this new game some of you will cream over.

In Away: Shuffle Dungeon, an unknown force has stripped Webb Village of its residents, and now the sole hero left behind, Sword, must rescue the stolen villagers from the ominous dungeons as he strives to expose and defeat the mysterious thief. Sword must first collect and use various objects including musical instruments to reveal the secret dungeons where prisoners are being held. But successfully saving them is another challenge altogether given a unique timed "shuffle" mechanic that reconfigures the dungeon prisons and hurts Sword and any survivors still caught within when the time runs out. Saved villagers will lend assistance to Sword's quest, as will the magical 'Fupongs' and dungeon treasure he finds that lets him shop in the village specialty stores for armor, weapons, health, medical aid and more.

A RPG by Final Fantay father Hironobu Sakaguchi, Away: Shuffle Dungeon features a scenario from Sakaguchi himself, music from Nobuo Uematsu, and character designs by Sonic the Hedgehog creator Naoto Ooshima.

This will get a NA release next week so not too long for you guys.

If this got released on the 7th than cool if not its suppose to come out on the 14th...I dunno.

Team up with Sam & Max, self-styled Freelance Police with their own brand of justice. Uncover clues, interrogate suspects, crack six bizarre cases, and find out why Sam & Max has been praised as the funniest game in years.

I did like the PC episodes, and all 6 from season one are here. Sure it wasn't as good as the original LucasArts adventure and the odd episode wasn't that funny but I enjoyed the series anyway. Fans of point & clicky games (including Telltales own excellent Strong Bad games) should be able to enjoy this title.

In the Dokapon Kingdom, everyone loves money. In this peaceful land, suddenly monsters appear, and villages are attacked. The people are struck down to the depths of poverty , and the King doesn't get any taxes. So the King makes a decision to gather all the heroes to free the villages from the monsters. The prize is the throne and the Princess (isn't that prostitution?). Now, an adventure riddled in money and betrayal starts!

It's a new Wii experience that gives you the ability to play a wide variety of musical instruments by using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to mimic the motions used to play real instruments. Everyone in the family will enjoy jamming together, while music fans will enjoy creating their own fresh, stylized takes on a variety of songs.

I'm on the fence with this one, its probably fun but I'm on other games so I'll probably give it a miss for now.

The once-carefree world is in danger of disaster at the hands of a maniacal doctor. The Mimigas’ only hope is in the hands of a quiet, amnesiac soldier named Quote. Players take control of Quote and learn the origins of the floating island’s power.

Gameplay is very open, sort of like Castleroids with RPG elements.

This game was freeware way back in 2004 and will still remain that way but even though you can obtain this for free I still think that you should support the developer of this, this is a developer that should be working fulltime in games. Also the WiiWare version will include new content not in the freeware PC game.

An old school shooter, basically a remix of previous titles. The gameplay of this edition is more in the style of the NES/MSX/SNES versions than the more recent ones. The game uses 100% sprites and features remixed music and sound effects from Gradius II NES, Gradius 2 MSX, Gradius I Arcade, Gradius I MSX, and Ambition of Gofer.

The Japanese version is out and this plays very well and may be too hard for some newbies but anyone who loves shoot-em-ups and Gradius will comfortably beat it.

For those who loved the likes of Smash TV, Geometry Wars & Alien Syndrome take a look at this from The Conduit developers.

Down in Mexico, where the Valle De La Sol Public Zoo is run by the charismatic geezer Don Eduardo Mendoza, there is a crisis -- the animals have begun dying only to be reborn as flesh-eating zombies! You take on the role of characters Marco and Maria Mendoza, Don Eduardo's weapon-proficient grandchildren, and you must knock down the bad animals to save the zoo. While the two will use a variety of powerful guns and items to mutilate the walking dead, they will also carry with them nets in order to capture and save the animals still unaffected by the outbreak.

The weapons you will use are uzis, flame flowers, bull whips, chainsaws & a cattle prod. 1-4 players can play so should be a fine game to play with friends. Now this may become a retail game as the developers are finding it hard cramming this into a 40MB file.

Very much looking forward to Away: Shuffle Dungeon. I think that one might end up being a sleeper hit, at least amongst the pirate hordes.

Everything else this weeks looks...well, nothing I'm excited about, anyway. Of course, barely have time to catch up on all the games we've gotten in the last few weeks, so can't complain in the least. Although, I'm still awaiting Legend of Kage 2. [IMG]

Yeah, what happened with that exactly? Is it in stores and undumped, or just not out yet?

Hadrian, it says on the Flower, Sun, and Rain Wiki: here

that ''An enhanced Nintendo DS remake (entitled Flower, Sun and Rain: Neverending Paradise in Japan) was released in Japan on March 6, 2008, and a European release is scheduled for October 2008.''
... is that true?

Are we still expecting this to come out EU this month and...

''A North American release has been mentioned in the past, but a date remains unannounced.[2] On October 9, 2008, XSEED Games announced that they will be publishing the game in North America with cooperation with Marvelous Entertainment's North American branch. The release of the game is expected for sometime in 2009'' ????
