Hello fellow turd burglars! Good week, though one of these should have come out a while back.

<!--coloro:green--><span style="color:green"><!--/coloro--><b><u>Read to know when a game could be dumped:</u>
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I love you with mouth.</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Free internet game to DS blah blah, should have been released so many times but apparently it is DEFINITELY coming out this week!

An update to the beloved and award winning flash-game N, N+ brings the action platformer to the Nintendo DS with all the features of the cult favourite and more. Faithfully translating the old-school look and action of the online game to the DS and PSP, N+ will have players leaping and avoiding obstacles using the excellent physics and collision detection while they scour each level for as much gold as they can reach before finding the switch and opening the door to the next challenging level.

So what is new? 200 single player levels, 100 Co-op levels & 50 Competitive levels. Pure & Plus modes. Pure is the N look that featured in the free PC game and the Plus is more enhanced and exclusive to the DS/PSP versions. As well as that there is a N server so you download even more levels that fellow people have made with the built the included Level Editor. So yeah looks like a worthy purchase.

<img src="http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/687/approvege0.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<b>Region</b> North America <b>Genre:</b> Baseball
<b>Developer:</b> Konami <b>Publisher:</b> Take 2

Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū finally see light of day on the DS! The first two titles never did but luckily Take 2 of all publishers have bought this for US release.

The Power Pros take to the field again in this unique baseball game that has the comedic visual appeal of miniature Major League Baseball player players while still delivering the fun with easy-to-use controls and addictive gameplay.

With over ten different exciting game modes including the traditional Practice, Exhibition, League and Home Run Challenge modes, MLB Power Pros 2008 will bring fans closer to the action than ever before. Gamers also get the opportunity to act as general manager and control the destiny of their own franchise in Season mode, or engage in entertaining role-playing story modes such as Success and MLB Life modes. As general manager, gamers can trade, sign free agents, coordinate practice schedules, purchase new equipment, call up and send down players from the Minor Leagues, along with other management options to bring in fans, win playoff games and eventually, earn the title of World Series champion.

I'm no baseball fan but I do like playing it either in real life or in video game and it has been a good series in the past so I can't see how it can't on the DS.

<b>Region</b> North America <b>Genre:</b> Breeding RPG thing
<b>Developer:</b> Epics <b>Publisher:</b> Namco Bandai Games

Every Digimon game I've played has been average (Digimon World DS was not bad) to awful, seriously Namco, us DS owners have Pokemon! We don't need these games.

As a new Digimon Tamer in Digimon World: Championship, players must explore the Digital World to hunt and capture the strongest Digimon in the wild. Utilize a variety of hunting gear and traps to catch the most elusive Digimon in the wild. Once captured, players can train their Digimon in different skills in preparation for over 50 intense competitions. Creativity and cleverness are crucial to raise the most successful Digimon squad as battle results will depend on your Tamer skills. On the road to victory, players will face adversaries who will stop at nothing to claim victory.

Famitsu gave it 26/40 so yet another meh title in the franchise.

<b>Region</b> North America <b>Genre:</b> Dungeom Crawling RPG
<b>Developer:</b> Sonic Powered <b>Publisher:</b> Aksys Games

It looks like yet another generic dungeon crawler!

From the Abyss allows players to explore the vast world of Rubenhaut through a unique world creation engine exclusively created for From The Abyss. The game also features an intuitive control scheme, lavish artwork, and an engaging 2 player co-op battle system.

Create your own unique Abyss!
Every time you start a brand new journey, the game will randomly generate a custom world that will give you a unique experience every time! Customize your character! Distribute your skill points that define your character’s powers and destiny. Will you go the way of the sword or be a powerful spell caster? Capture your enemy’s soul! Steal the enemy’s techniques and use them to turn the tide of the battle! Co-op Mode!
Connect with a friend wirelessly and work together to defeat the Dark Lord of the Abyss!

I'm kinda hankering for something like this so I'll give it a go. Famitsu gave it 27/40 so don't expect the best game in the world I guess.

<b>Region</b> North America <b>Genre:</b> Another boring pets game
<b>Developer:</b> Electronic Arts <b>Publisher:</b> Electronic Arts

Can us DS owners have a good Sims game for once? Seriously EA I know that you are trying to get your respect back, but releasing stuff like this isn't gonna help.

In your Sim's new apartment adventure on the Nintendo DS, care for a variety of local pets, including loveable cats and dogs, slithery snakes, hamsters, colourful birds, and cuddly rabbits to make sure they receive the right treatment so that they stay happy, healthy and looking good. Simoleans earned can be used to furnish the perfect apartment and buy fun pet accessories like hats, shoes and toys. Players can use the Nintendo DS touch screen and stylus to play cool mini games and unlock new objects for their Sim and their pets. And in one mini game you can charm a snake by blowing into the Nintendo DS microphone, which serves as your musical instrument.

Seriously I'd love Electronic Arts to be the great publisher it was in the 90's, especially seeing that Activison have gotten worse with each year (for god sake who drops an potential million seller like Ghostbusters?) and it does have a lot of potential classics lined up but come on drop this shit.

This didn't do too well in Japan and its reviews where a bit meh.

Featuring a variety of interesting characters that come to life via the words of Junko Kawano, script writer for Suikoden IV, Time Hollow enables players to guide Ethan Kairos on his quest to solve the mysterious disappearance of his family. While on his quest, Ethan comes across the mysterious Hollow Pen - an uncanny object that has the unique power to open portals to the past. Using the stylus pen and dual screen capabilities of the DS, players can use the Hollow Pen to draw portals between past and present. As they progress through their journey, they will encounter a variety of interesting characters that help them guide Ethan on his search for his family.

I'm still gonna try this title despite its Japanese reviews, I'm a sucker for these sort of adventure titles.

Don't expect a return to form for the series with this title.

In Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness you develop the island by growing crops and taking care of animals and expanding your farm. The better you do, the more the island will grow, and the more others will start to move onto the island. Though it was not your original dream, now is you chance to create your very own paradise!

Reviews say its boring, riddled with bugs and nothing compared to Rune Factory. Shame really, I'm dying for a proper good HM game.

<b>Region</b> Europe <b>Genre:</b> Edutainment Wankery
<b>Developer:</b> Atari <b>Publisher:</b> Atari

Atari are losing money so they've decided to do a Ubisoft and unleash some edutainment titles.

Driving Theory Training is aimed at provisional license holders who need that little extra help to be successful when the day of the real test comes around and offers valuable help to anyone who’s learning to drive.

Driving Theory Training features the full driving theory questions and answers officially licensed by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency). In addition to a full theory test based on the real life exam, learners can benefit from revision, graphs, mini games and questions and answers relating to vehicles. The application also features the full Highway-code, ways to learn and revise as well as fun games to entertain whilst stimulating the mind.

Might be of use for those who don't wanna get a book I guess. Looks cheaply produced.

<b>Region:</b> Europe <b> Genre:</b> Platformer
<b>Developer:</b> Black Lantern Studios <b> Publisher:</b> Zoo Digital

Ugh oh DSI/Zoo Digital time!! Yes its yet another Garfield title too, though they've still to release the first one (which was hyped at being the best looking 3D platformer on the DS) which is called Garfield Gets Real.

In Garfield's Fun Fest, you'll help Garfield to find his lost sense of humour so he can win Arlene back from Ramone at Fun Fest! Together with Garfield, Odie, and their friends, you will explore his hometown of Grin City and the surrounding area, take part in performances of dancing and acting, and fill up on Garfield's favourite foods to help him stay energized!

You can also ride Odie (in the actual way, not the doggy rape way) so I dunno its not all bad and the screens make this look OK I guess. Its by Black Lantern Studios who have made some real bad games.

<b>Region</b> North America <b>Genre:</b> Golf
<b>Developer:</b> EA Tiburon <b>Publisher:</b> Electronic Arts

Well this looks good.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play features personalized coaching from Tiger Woods’ personal coach, Hank Haney and all types of gamers can pick up this game and have a fun and challenging experience. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play features new graphics and user interface while also incorporating interactive and social mini-games. The standing swing control, the most “true to life” golf mechanic you can find in any video game, truly takes advantage of the Wii's unique control scheme. The game will also feature online play for the first time with Simultaneous Online Play that allows up to four players the ability to play each hole at the same time.

So yeah sounds a lot better than last years game but this will be redundant when next years version comes out, which is to be expected but the next game would undoubtedly would use the Motion Plus add on that Nintendo will release next year.

I don't usually cover WiiWare titles as the ones that are apparently out on a certain day don't usually come out on that day but fuck its Alien Crush Return so I'll feature it seeing that no one else seems to talk it up.

Alien Crush was this excellent pinball title on the TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine. The tables were very alienlike and you just whacked your ball at the aliens to score points and all that shizzle mizzle Madrizzle.

Also a first for WiiWare is online leader boards which a lot of these games could have done with. There will also be DLC, where you can buy extra tables and balls with a different set of physics which sounds alright. So far Hudson have said that there will be a release in NTSC & PAL territories but as usual its up to Nintendo when we'll get it.

Now out in Japan! Been waiting a while for this.

This is the reverse of Space Invaders, players will control mysterious UFOs and give orders to hordes of Space Invader underlings in an attempt to overrun Earth and battle Earthlings' attacking human weaponry. Five unique attack modes to fit any battle situation you will face. Choose between Shot, Homing, Burst, Drill and Hopping. Be prepared to battle the onslaught of Earthling technology including Tanks, Battleships, Fighter Planes, Fortified Buildings, Attacking Helicopters, not to mention the Bosses!

As well as that you can upload your scores via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connectio. The game will cost 500 points which is cheap until you realise that you only get two levels and a boss, there will be six more stages to be added across three DLC packs. So depending on how long the levels are and how much these packs will cost will depend on whether this will be worth the money, but at the moment its worth getting by other means. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

<b>Developer:</b> Skip Ltd. <b>Publisher:</b> Nintendo

Big sodding Gaydrian Approval here. A new IP from Nintendo and Skip Ltd who are the developers of Chibi-Robo & Giftpia (come on Nintendo localise that for Wii already) as well as featuring ex-members of Square who have worked on Chrono Trigger. Will Captain Rainbow be a small hit like those previous skip games or will he be featured on Smash Bros as a fighter one day?

Captain Rainbow tells the story of a hero of the same name and his every day alter-ego Nick. Rainbow is the star of a television show in the land of the free, Mameruka. Thanks to the appearance of some unpopular characters, the ratings for his show have tanked. In order to gain back the shows popularity, Nick decides to head off to Mimin Island. Something happens along the way, however, and Nick learns that he is the only person who can help out the residents of Mimin.

And those residents happen to be forgotten characters from the Nintendo family, including Ossan, the character from the original Famicom Golf and Hikari, from the Japanese game Famicom Mukashibanashi. This unique game promised multiple gameplay features for a unique gaming experience.

Other characters that feature are Little Mac from Punch-Out & Birdo who first appeared on Doki Doki Panic, and then various Mario games. If you didn't play Tingle RPG because you was afraid of catching "the gay" then you are a moron and you'll probably would avoid this game, the rest of us open minded people should be in for a damn good game. Will it come out in the West? Maybe Europe as we got Tingle.

<b>Release Date</b> Europe <b> Genre:</b> Platformer
<b>Developer:</b> Hudson Soft <b>Publisher:</b> Hudson Soft

A brand new entry in the Bomberman series, players can customise the look of their own Bomberman. Hudson has also extended the gameplay, with the familiar setting of planting bombs to destroy encroaching enemies and clear levels extended into a more open format. Players are faced with varied missions and can customize their Bomberman character in more than 160,000 ways. In addition to the single-player mission, Bomberman 2 (Working Title), will also boast a Versus mode for up to four players using Wi-Fi connection or eight players using Wireless versus.

To be honest I've not really got on well with the previous Bomberman DS titles (I hated having a big space to battle in, loses the tension) and for me Bomberman Tournament on the GBA is still the definitive handheld experience even if it doesn't have online but this one looks very good and a little different to what we've got before. It also looks like the Story mode has had more focus & looks more action orientated.

<b><!--sizeo:4--><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Overlord: Minions<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></b>

<b>Release Date</b> Q1 2009 <b> Genre:</b> Action Adventure
<b>Developer:</b> Climax Studios <b> Publisher:</b> Codemasters

Meet Giblet, Blaze, Stench, and Zap – an elite Minion crew who, assisted by minion master Gnarl, get star billing in Overlord Minions, an irresistible and accessible puzzle action game, designed exclusively for Nintendo DS. In Overlord Minions, the Overlord commands the Minion team remotely. The Nintendo DS stylus becomes an extension of his evil will and every precise touch screen command is the player-as-Overlord directing, commanding and combining minions in battle, pointing and sweeping them to attack enemies and solving puzzles to execute his dastardly plans.

Controlling the Special Farces team of four, players negotiate fiendish levels and take on a huge range of warped enemies to hunt down the Kindred, a cult dedicated to resurrecting the mighty Dragon Kin, a race of humanoid dragon hybrids, determined to replace the Overlord’s despotism with their own. Extending the Overlord series’ trademark humour, gameplay focuses on the mischievous physical comedy of the minion’s antics and is delivered in a gloriously realised cartoon visual style.

The 360 game was pretty good, not perfect but fun nonetheless & it is always great to gear of these sort of games coming to the DS.

<b>Release Date</b> TBA 2009 <b>Genre:</b> Puzzler Action
<b>Developer:</b> Hudson Soft <b>Publisher:</b> Hudson Soft

A sequel to the first game (of course) which for me reminded me of Marble Madness. It was also pretty good but the sequel is promising to be better.

Kororinpa 2 is a fast-paced action title where the player helps out the small Ant – named Anthony – and his colony, the player is charged with rolling a ball through over 100 stages in a quest to locate the mythical ‘Golden Sunflower Seed.’

As the player progresses the level designs grow ever more complex as they go through houses, snow capped mountains, deserts, watery settings and even a space station. In addition to rolling through the colourful stages, the player will collect pieces of junk which the ants can turn into the 100 edit parts need to proceed to the final stage “The Stump Temple”.

There will be a 4 player mode, and level editor where you can share levels online, you can design your own ball & use your Mii as a ball. Also Balance Board owners, this is another game you can play it with though there will only be 10 specific levels for it (as well as 100 for regular Wiimote mode).

<b>Release Date</b> TBA 2009 <b>Genre:</b> RPG
<b>Developer:</b> tri-Crescendo <b>Publisher:</b> Namco Bandai

From the devlopers of the well rated 360 RPG "Eternal Sonata" and co-developers of the two "Baten Kaitos" titles..

Fragile takes place in the near future, in a world that has lost its population. You play as Seto, a young boy who wanders around, searching through the abandoned cities and facilities of this world, trying to learn the truth behind the disappearance of all the people, and to find someone to keep him company.

The Wiimote is used as an aid in exploration. Seto uses a flashlight to light up his surroundings. You get to use the Wiimote to directly point the torch in whatever direction you like. Seto also has a metal detector. Once again, the Wiimote is used to directly operate this device. In addition to exploration, Seto has to deal with ghosts who appear in the ruins.

RPG games continue to trickly out onto the Wii, at the moment there is a slight lack of them but this time next year I reckon we'll be flooded by them like we do on the DS. Lets hope that there are a lot of potential classics like this game.

Its golf...but with a cat tied to an arrow. You shoot the arrow aiming for the target in an attempt to get an "target in one".

Come on Valve let someone do this as an official game for the DS! Its Portal of course...but in 2D and good too. OK we do have a DS homebrew title but you know, I want an official one.

<b>The Tall Stump</b>

Excellent puzzle platformer, some real clever puzzles hear and their, especially the one where you have to get past this dog so you shoot a ball at an moving platform so that it bounces off it, hits a beehive and then the bees come out to scare the dog. Out of all the games I've listed, this one should be the next to hit the DS...I prey it does anyway.

Seems like there's not really anything I'm interested in...except Captain Rainbow, but that's in Japanese anyway...

Glad you mentioned Fragile, though. It's one of my top games I'm looking forward to, but it doesn't seem to gain much attention.

Is that Pedobear in this Digimon screenshot?
gfs_97204_2_11.jpg

Also, Bomberman 2 will be AWESOME if it features Internet Wi-Fi and those Overlord: Minions screencaps reminded me for a moment of Dungeon Keeper, although probably it's completelly different gameplay-wise (I miss Bullfrog soooo much).

I myself am looking forward to Time Hollow and Harvest Moon

. I was hoping to see more visual novels coming out for the DS and TH seems pretty good from a few screenshots. I'm also a fan of HM games so I know I'll be playing that first. I'm gonna try some sprite exchange like what I did with Shining Sun and Friends when I finish playing as Mark

Looking forward to N+ and From the Abyss. Tried out the (J) version of From The Abyss, and it looked like it would be decent in English.

Thanks for the weekly list Hadrian. Some of us have short attention spans.

Ah right yes they did, I keep thinking that Monolith Soft did them two themselves.

Great thread as usual, though it looks like a poor week for the DS(except for n+).

Thanks for the previews,I can't wait for Bomberman 2.

Gah, I was hoping that Island of Happiness was a step up from HMDS. But alas, Natsume shits out another buggy game that could have had so much more potential like FoMT/MFoMT.

Tiger Woods Wii looks really good this year too, hopefully it keeps it's promises of good 1-to-1 motion golf.

Nicely done, really interesting games coming out this week
N+ - Good games come out last
MLB - I really miss playing the baseball game for the nintendo hopefully this will be fun too
From the Abyss - Really wanted this previously but something tells me it won't be good
Time Hollow - Let's see how good of an adventure game it is
Harvest Moon - Obviously we can't say that a similitude to FOMT can be made on the handheld consoles specifically DS since now they have run out of ideas... It said t'was boring but if u keep farming since the past versions like tht of Snes, gba etc then don't expect farming to be any different in this version
I don't see anything they can add but rune factory has better gameplay since it also includes ACTION and that is what HM is famous for (peaceful game ; relaxing)... maybe the bugs will cause a prob but nothin else...

Beautiful work and the others seem nice but not too much (such as Sims) and thanks
