A nice enough week really but to be honest I'm still playing last weeks Wii & DS titles so not so fussed.

<!--coloro:#483D8B--><span style="color:#483D8B"><!--/coloro--><u><b>Read to know when a game could be dumped:</b></u>
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I love you like a something loves something.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Square Enix digs up another old game, but at least us English folk have never had an official release.

The XBLA/PC game comes to the DS!
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The planet Roo was once a magical, happy place, powered by falling shapes known as Magical Meteors and populated by beings known as the Roogoo. Over time, some Roogoo began to abuse the powers of the Magical Meteors for greed and corruption, devastating the planet and plunging it into darkness. These fallen Roogoo are now known as the Meemoo. Your quest, as Roogoo, is to foil the Meemoo's activities of corruption and restore Planet Roo to its former glory.

Based on the critically-acclaimed Roogoo for Xbox Live Arcade, this game allows you to continue Roogoo's quest to ensure that the Magical Meteors can reach planet Roo and revive it with happiness and joy. But look out - the Meemoos will not let their energy source go without a fight!
Features:

* 10 environments with 100+ action-packed levels.
* Connect DS™ version to Roogoo Twisted Towers on the Wii™ to unlock additional levels in both DS™ and Wii™ versions.
* Single and Multi-card play featuring 6+ different multiplayer attacks such as Meemoo Attack, Anvil Attack and Air Mine.
* Butterflies, bats, and other flying creatures take your shapes backwards in reverse gameplay.

* Charming art style and fresh, innovative gameplay.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
The XBLA version was very well recieved and I can't see how they can mess the DS version up. Those hankering for the next great DS puzzler may wanna grab this.

This year SEGA have a lot of RPG's to unleash onto the DS, this one is the first all new entry on an Nintendo system since Shining Soul II on GBA back in 2004. That game was ok, though a lot better than the first. Since then there has been numourous entries for mobile phones and two titles on the PS2 though none of them have been as good as Camelots own entries in the series. In fact its been 11 years since the last really good game. Lets see if this title changes that.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->In Shining Force Feather, players take control of main character Jin, a treasure hunter and wanderer. The game takes place 3,000 years following the war between the Shining Force warriors and enemy forces known as the Kyomu. That war is remembered primarily as artifacts, which is where Jin comes into the picture.

Feather will feature a turn-based strategic battle system with an overhead perspective. Select an enemy for attack, and the game switches to a side perspective. Here, the battle system takes on somewhat of an action feel as you press buttons to select from various actions. In addition to solo attacks, the battle system will allow players to team up their forces for combination attacks.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Sadly SEGA couldn't get Camelot to do this title but they did get Flight-Plan who ahve previously done the very good Summon Night Twin Age on DS and the well recieved Eternal Poison for PS2.

Hot tits a new Nintendo first party game! Been ages since we last had one on the DS but instead of giving something DS gamers want Nintendo release another none game because the British casual crowd seem to eat them up. Thing is I wanted F-Zero DS. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/frown.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="frown.gif" />
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Walk with me! Do you know your walking routine? helps you work out if your activity rhythm is up to scratch and provides valuable insight on how to set up a regular routine.

The first thing to do is to check out your activity rhythm, or walking habits, and see if the duration, timing and number of steps are all the best they can be. You can set yourself a Step Target, aiming for as many or as few steps as you think you can manage. Then have a look at the Records section, where your performance result is presented in several clear and concise graphs. The Activity Meter will provide helpful comments on whether you achieved your target and will even compare your walking performance to an animal! The game will also set you fun Mini Targets after your results have been checked – perhaps to avoid fatty foods for the day, or maybe just to relax and treat yourself.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
With WiiFit and this I get the feeling that Nintendo doesn't like the fatties. I don't need a walking routine so will give this a skip but I'm sure that there will be half a million or so people wanting to buy this so they can never use it again just like WiiFit & Cooking Guide. The title comes with two wireless devices which some of you will remember were a hot topic. Some people were wondering what they were when first shown last year and they turned out to be pedometers. >_<

Oh shit its lets you use 3D glasses!!!!! So what? There have been games before that let you (even the Master System had one) Before you wet yourself please see that its Popcorn Arcade (a Data Design Interactive company) and they are the bastards responsible for the Wii's majority of shit games.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Battle Rage: The Robot Wars the third person shooter with elements of a beat'em'up game that allows a player to control giant robots. Battles between the robots take place on carefully selected battlegrounds (so called "arenas") and they are short, quick, brutal skirmishes. The player can fight alone (versus one, two or even three opponents) or in a team against a common foe. Every robot has its own weapons (for melee and distance combat), additional weapon types can be collected on the arena.

The player can modify a robot's parameters in the single player mode as well as in the multiplayer to fit its possibilities to his/her own fighting style. Also many new, powerful robots will wait for the player to unlock in the story mode. The Tournament has begun.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Well it has a chance at being good right? Not really, its using the imfamous GODS engine which is pretty piss poor and its actually based on a PC game from last year that was apparently terrible. Avoid I guess, even if its DDI's best looking Wii title to date.

Another old game gets the Wiimote treatment, this one I'll actually bother with, but don't expect me to pay for this again. Seems odd to see this in Japan first seeing that the Prime series hasn't sold well there. The original game I'd rate 10/10.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Part of Nintendo's New Play Control! series of titles of classic Nintendo games remade for the unique control systems of the Wii, this game brings back the revolutionary first Metroid Prime with controls designed around the Wii Remote.

Metroid Prime is an action-packed adventure set in the first-person perspective that takes place just after the events in the original Metroid (NES). It has lead character Samus Aran, a bounty hunter by trade, chasing down the evil Space Pirates. Their intention is to use a genetic mutagen called Phazon to create a super army and take over the universe. While the installments in the series before have never been home to deeply involving storylines, Metroid Prime breaks the shell to offer up one of the most intriguing and read-worthy sagas yet. Developed by Texas-based Retro Studios. Metroid Prime brings all of the elements of the acclaimed franchise into a gaping 3D arena.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->If you've not had the chance to play the GC original then this is the perfect chance to. Metroid Prime is for me the best in the series, and its still a bit of a looker due to its distinctive art style. The game was such an excellent, one of the best 2D to 3D transformations we've seen since Ocarina of Time. For those who are not into first person shooters...its not one of those games, try to think of it as a first person sci-fi Zelda and there you go. A classic game that everyone should try at least once. I bet the original NES game isn't included like it was in the GC version though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/frown.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="frown.gif" />

<b>Wanted Level</b> 7

<b>Developer:</b> Capcom <b>Publisher:</b> Capcom

Capcom bring another mature title to us and its the 3rd zombie title to hit the Wii this month, I think it'll rank 3rd behind the other two but it should be a decent enough title to pass the time with though of course nothing compared to the original. Had I not already played the 360 game then I'd want this more but I'll still grab it just for something to pass the time with.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop delivers a more immersive, intuitive and interactive experience as players use the Wii Remote to shoot, slash and bludgeon their way through a zombie infested shopping mall, fighting for survival.

The game follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance journalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to the small suburban town of Willamette only to find that it has become overrun by zombies. Frank escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety but it turns out to be anything but. It will be a true struggle to survive the endless stream of enemies, but players will have full reign of a realistic shopping center and its varied stores offering an endless supply of real and makeshift weapons to fight off the flesh-hungry mob. If Frank is running low on health he can pay a visit to one of the many restaurants or cafes for a meal in order to restore his energy and continue the fight. It's a brutal fight, but with no end in sight to this zombie onslaught, Frank bides his time by messing around with a variety of comedic costumes and making use of improvised and sometimes highly ineffective weapons such as a toy sword or a football.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Blah blah not enough zombies (to be honest there seems to be enough for slaughtering) blah blah there have been GC games with more enemoes on screen (true), blah blah without the photo element it'll be a samey game (again true). If you have a 360 get that version, if you don't get this but don't expect it to be as good. The game will use the RE4 engine and while it doesn't look as good as that game it should do the trick, even though you can't jump. Take it for what it is, a mindless zombie slaughter game that is there to pass the time with while having fun killing zombies in different ways. Try not to be too pissed if its not as good as the 360 game, think of it as a different game altogether. Who knows, if it does well Capcom may give us a proper Dead Rising game, one that is made FOR the Wii rather than ported. North America will get this on the 24th with Europe getting it a few days after.

I'm interested in that walking game.. been walking a lot lately, would be cool to keep track of it, too bad I can't download the smurfmeter

Other than that.. Evasive Space looks cool.. and I still have to finish DQIV before going into DQV. I'll wait for the US version of Dead Rising in the week after, never played the 360 game and it looks fun

I'm still trying to make sense out of why Metroid Prime Wii-make is releasing first in Japan, but trying to understand the motives of Nintendo is like trying to understand my wife. Futile, I'm sure...

No matter...we get DQV, so I couldn't be happier. Although, it'd probably be more accurate to list it as part of next week's line-up, since SE is guaranteed to put some type of pirate-guard in there that will prevent us from playing it immediately after dumping.

Maybe.....maybe not,I don't recall any protection on DQ IV,then again V is a popular release so it could be a target for copy protection...

Thanks as always, H. This is the first decent week in some time. One question: What happened to XG Blast last week? Any idea when the new release date is? I was actually looking forward to this unique-looking title.
