Now with 50% less errors!

Another big week but I still expect the usual "nothing for me 'cos I lack good taste" comment. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smileipb2.png" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":creep:" border="0" alt="smileipb2.png" />
I'm expecting forum slowdown as some games may not work and I expect to issue a shit load more suspensions than usual. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smileipb2.png" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":creep:" border="0" alt="smileipb2.png" /> 2

These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they <b>make </b>dates up for pre-ordering purposes so not all can be trusted. These dates could also be <b>"shipping dates"</b> which usually means that that's the date when games get <b>shipped </b>to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or <b>after</b>.

Some games may get <b>delayed </b>some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it <b>doesn't</b> mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time.

Have patience and remember scene releases are not a right but a privilege.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

<b>My Wanted Level:</b> Will give it a play.
<b>Forum Wanted Level:</b> A lot will want it seeing that they only have a DS.

<b>Region:</b> North America/Europe <b>Genre:</b> First Person Shooter

Why didn't they just add a 2 at the end? Might end up confusing some people and make them think that this is just the first DS game.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized delivers an arsenal of cutting-edge weaponry, vehicles and tactics, arming players with precision controls for battle across the world's most dangerous hotspots. Gamers fight on the ground in intense building-to-building tactical combat, hack into enemy computer terminals, take the controls of military vehicles like Battle Tanks and UAV spy drones, or man the guns of an AC-130 gunship.

The game features a six-player online multiplayer mode that allows friends to host their own server, as well as the brand new Survival Mode, giving players a variety of weapons to hold off waves of oncoming enemy forces and an expanded six-player online multiplayer mode. Also, Arcade Mode will allow gamers to replay the game's single-player with a time limit and running score, with extra points awarded for specific achievements.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
The last two were decent and from what "those who have played it" have said it improves on the last game massively. Apparently its it own stand alone game just set in the MW world. Such a shame that this sort of effort can't be put into the Wii game even though World At War Wii sold a shit load more than the DS one.

<b>My Wanted Level:</b> Meh

<b>Region:</b> North America <b>Genre:</b> Farm sim

It feels like a very long time since we had a good Harvest Moon game. The DS ones have been ok at best but also quite bug ridden. Most of us have had to make do with Rune Factory which is a great game but still we are waiting for a good HM game. Sadly this is just another Island of Happiness which I can't say I liked at all.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The islands are in peril! Years ago, a powerful earthquake struck the Sunshine Islands. In Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands, it's up to the player to raise the sunken islands by finding the magical Sun Stones. Raise the islands to meet new characters, harvest new crops, and befriend animals such as ducks, monkeys, and badgers. In Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands, players rejoin all of the beloved characters from Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness, and get to meet a number of new friends as well. Players will grow and harvest crops, care for animals, mine, fish, and compete in festivals in their quest to restore the Sunshine Islands to their former glory. With a little luck, they may even find true love and start a family along the way.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hopefully most that was wrong with the last one will be fixed but I can't say I'm expecting much. Also I heard that the Wi-Fi features are taken out for the US release.

Hands up who already played the Japanese version online a lot?
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Phantasy Star™ Ø takes place on an alternate Earth 200 years after the “Great Blank,” a massive war that has reduced the once-prosperous civilization to almost nothing. The sole surviving Humans have worked hard to exist peacefully and have built thriving Cities. The Humans that adventure past the outskirts of these Cities, called Hunters, explore the vast wilderness and hunt dangerous monsters to keep Cities safe. Players will take up the role of Hunters and select from three types of races and different classes, as well as gender for a total of 14 customizable character types. Each character type will play very differently and give players access to a great range of items, armor and weapons. Featuring over 350 unique weapons, gamers will venture out on “Earth”, combat dangerous monsters to gain experience and meet new major characters. As players explore further, they will unravel the mystery of the “Great Blank” and discover a dangerous new force that must be stopped.

Three races are present in this installment, the Humans, the androids Casts and Newmans, a new type of beings that descended from the moon. Depending on what strengths you value and what weaknesses you can afford to have, decide your player character's race and profession.

The game takes place two centuries after a great war which destroys everything. To rebuild civilization, the humans, the only race left on the crumbling world did all they could and constructed cities. Within the city everything remains peaceful, but once they step out, the people are accosted by enemies.

To keep their cities safe, the humans formed the hunters organizations and joined forces Casts to combat the enemies' aggression. However, there is another race which humans have forgotten for they have disappeared even from the history books. When the Newmans descend from the moon, new opportunities for adventures and conflicts opened.

* Play online with your friends and talk using "Visual Chat", a take on PictoChat where players communicate by drawing on the touchscreen

* 14 Customizable character types<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Amazingly Sega haven't really talked this release up much recently especially so close to its release.

Man this is old! The Japanese have had this game since June 2008.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Choose your own motherland, invade and unify the world of Neverland by becoming the overlord of the rest of the thirty nine countries. This game has already made a name for itself with the last installments by having a cast of intriguing characters and a complex web of political as well as personal relationships between them.

This newest installment makes use of the touch pen facility in battle wars to make controls more intuitive. Direct your armies with your touch pen and indicate the speed they should march at with your movements. Some armies are better with speedy battles and some are better with prolonged sieges, understand your forces before you deploy them.

Each character has a different set of attacks when they enter the battlefield. Use your touch pen to initiate special attacks against your enemies. You need to deal with random events like taxation, diplomatic missions, battles etc at random intervals, so be sure that you are equipped for all of these tasks at all times.

View event scenes once you have accomplished a specific task. There is a library section that allows you to review all the scenes and graphics awarded to you. Since the game consist of elements from all the previous installments, there is a glossary section for you to look up the terms. This feature is especially helpful for the beginners who start their Spectral Force experience with this game.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Will definitely give this a go but only when the DS releases have quitened down.

I have a PC that can run this at the highest quality but then I do for World At War but I really enjoyed the Wii controls on that version so I didn't mind a lower res port seeing it played better for me. This one however...not sure but I am certainly gonna play it to see how how it turned out.

The problem I have with this is that Activision should have commissioned an all new game for the Wii and maybe also port it to PSP & PS2 just to cover costs. The first Wii title sold well over a million copies so its not as if its not worth it but to me this is Activision being cheap sons of bitches with Wii development. Weirdly the DS one is a new game and now a downgrade. There is no media for this apart from the early BETA images. The fact that there is no footage either is a bad sign especially when one of Activisions "lower" IP's "Jurrassic: The Hunted" has lots of footage. Something tells me that Activision are hoping that the good name of Modern Warfare will sell this and not a quality release, I hope for Wii owners that I am wrong.

Treyarch are confident that this is a better "product" then WaW, they claim the engine has been enhance to allow better particle effects & higher texture resolution. IGN said that they have seen it in motion and it didn't look very impressive compared to Mario Galaxy & Metroid Prime 3...ouch?

Click to view video...its not of the game but it could represent it:

I looks a lot less impressive than the four year old Xbox game...why exactly? Oh yeah Destineer mostly make cheap ass games. Still chances are that it could play as well as the original game and after all Destineer did make the DS game Homie Rollerz so it can't be all that bad...oh wait.

Intuitive zonal defending will cover spaces and players need to look constantly for new ways to attack. PES 2010 focuses on being a real soccer simulation, as it requires both strategic play and quick reactions, as in real life. In addition to key out-field elements, goalkeepers are more versatile and with abilities matching those of modern shot-stoppers. The game's referees have also been reworked, with smarter AI elements allowing them to make more balanced calls during matches.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
To be honest this sequel feels a bit like its been released too soon especially seeing the last one only came out in March of this year. I probably wont be buying this one but it may replace PES 2009.

Alright I don't usually write up games that have already been released in English but I'm making an exception to this one seeing that its an overlooked gem. It came out in Europe this year it was also out on Xbox, PC & PS2 but its a very good a solid title that really does fill the void in the action genre on the Wii.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->On the hostile planet of Nu Earth, there are tales of a lone warrior. A man who appears out of thin air to take out whole platoons, then disappears back into the shadows. In the centre of a futile war, one man can swing the balance: the ultimate soldier and last survivor of the massacred Genetic Infantrymen, hell-bent on revenge ... the Rogue Trooper.

Based on the 2000AD comic series, Rogue Trooper, Rogue Trooper blends intense third person action and next generation stealth. Rogue's arsenal offers him a unique advantage over his opponents; encoded bio-chips containing the digitized personalities of his fallen comrades are implanted in his gun (Gunnar), helmet (Helm) and backpack (Bagman). Rogue Trooper features intense online gameplay modes, where gamers can experience up to four-player co-operative gameplay in all new maps.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
This game oozes personality, gameplay and it has some great voice acting in it too. It isn't a perfect game but its an excellent and overlooked title. Even on the PC/Xbox/PS2 it was overlooked but there are so many elements in this game that are original and even improve on other games in the genre and I cant recommend it enough for anyone with those consoles and for Wii gamers looking for something like this, its essential!

Overall I give it <b>8/10.</b> The camera could be done better and it could be a lot longer and it also would have been great if there had been some online play but Wii gamers have nothing else like this. If you have the other consoles as well as a Wii then get this version, it has the clarity of the PC version as well as some very well made Wii controls. I hope the US release gets this game more well known.

The reason this is included in this weeks is that I expect it to come out before...well perhaps. When I first saw this game at E3 I was "wtf? This should be a bonus mode on Mario Galaxy 2" but over time I've seen and read more and more about it until I've finally realised that this IS indeed a fully fledge game. This game is going to surprise the Mario fans who are angry that it is what it is.
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->This New Super Mario Bros. is a throwback to the style of the original Super Mario Bros. and allows four players to play the game together.

Players can navigate the side-scrolling worlds alone as before or invite up to three others to join them at the same time on the same level at any point in the game for competitive and cooperative multiplayer fun. With the multiplayer mode, the newest installment of the most popular video game franchise is designed to bring yet another type of family entertainment into living rooms and engage groups of friends in fast-paced Super Mario Bros. fun.

* New Super Mario Bros. Wii offers a combination of cooperation and competition. Players can pick each other up to save them from danger or toss them into it
* Mario, Luigi and two Toads are all playable characters, while many others from the Mushroom Kingdom make appearances throughout the game. Players can even ride different Yoshi characters and use their tongues to swallow enemies – or their fellow players
* In some areas, players use the motion abilities of the Wii Remote controller. The first player to reach a seesaw might make it tilt to help his or her character reach a higher platform – and then tilt it incorrectly just to mess with other players.
* New items include the propeller suit, which will shoot players high into the sky with just a shake of the Wii Remote and Mario's new ability to transform into Penguin Mario
* At the end of each stage during the simultaneous multiplayer mode, players are ranked based on their score, the coins collected and the number of enemies defeated<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Reviews have been great and most are saying that the later half of the game is going to own most seasoned game players...oh I hope they are right! Bit miffed about the lack of online but saying that these sort of multiplayer games are only fun when people are in the same room as you.

And that is it, I hope people either don't get charged for going over their bandwidth or they have unlimited. Dirty pirates, you make game developers hungry. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

And in Europe:

Go Play Circus Star
Go Play City Sports

Go Play Lumberjacks

If you're wondering why they didn't make it "Modern Warfare 2: Mobilized", it's probably because of Nintendo systems getting CoD4 instead of CoD6.

Pretty big week for the holiday season.

I can't believe Australia gets NSMBWii before anyone else?

....

That's so going to happen here, filthy ISP providers!

What a great week, probably the best week of the year for me with PES 2010 and NSMB Wii!

I'm pretty sure a crowbar and Super Glue will fix your caps lock key. Anyway, my week mini-review.

- Looking forward to CoD: Mobilized. I couldn't get into CoD5 on the DS but I loved CoD4 (I actually own a copy of the game). I think slowly but surely, Nintendo owners are getting better and better efforts on the Call of Duty front. The Survival Mode is very, very appealing to me.
- Spectral Force: I'm bored with SRPGs, and playing ASH as my SRPG for the next few months anyway.
- Harvest Moon: It's like your period. It happens every month, it makes you cranky, and you bleed.
- PS0: Never played the Japanese version due to the language barrier, but I'm looking forward to it. AP is gonna be harsh, I'm thinking.
- TMNT: It's 3-D but it may play like it's 2-D predecessors. We need a good Turtles beamup, guys!

- Excitebike: Never played the NES original, but this looks fun. WiiWare ahoy!
- CoD: Reflex: 4 was always better than 5, and I'm glad they're bringing it to the Wii. I'll definitely add this one to my collection. Also, CoD on the Wii never looked good at all... Why are you comparing it to SMG (hands down probably the greatest Wii game, visually) and MP3 (which is, again, a first party effort and will have more polish). Facepalm to you, IGN.
- Modern Urban Combat: Meh, Hadrian is relatively interested, although it looks like crap. Possible diamond in the rough?
- PES: Don't care about sockball. That's soccer and football combined.
- Harvest Moon: It's like your period...
- Rogue Trooper: Never heard of this game, but I love TPS games and it may turn out to be a hidden gem, as Hadrian pointed out.
- FFCC: Meh. I've never been a huge FF fan all around, whether it be RPGs, SRPGs, ARPGs, etc.
- NSMBWii: Will I download it? Yes. Am I expecting the best Wii game ever? No. Shingeru Miyabutthole is taking a concept that is meant for 1 player and trying to make it 2-4 player. Why? Go make another Mario Kart game if you want to refill your swimming pool of whatever the highest currency of yen is in Japan. Looks good, but nothing more.

I'm rather worried. It would seem the US dumping groups have all gone silent. No US DS roms been dumped in a while. Hope they come back in time to dump Phantasy Star Zero and Harvest Moon since neither is due for an EU release any time soon. So it's US release or no release.

Hell, yes!

I'm excited for Phantasy Star Zero and Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star. I may give that Harvest Moon a try too.

A great week for me.
