    Race Driver: Create & Race

    Region: US Genre: Race-me-do
    Developer: FireBrand Games Publisher: Codemasters
Multi-player: You bet your sweet ass! Online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Multi-card Multiplayer, Single-card Multiplayer, DS Card Save! Take that and party!

To be honest, I'm expecting to be disappointed by this. A lot of previews are saying "its ok" but then they said that about Excite Truck and Asphalt GT 2 DS and I really enjoyed those games. It does sound like theres a lot of work gone into this title so lets see if it becomes the DS racer of choice.

    Crayola Treasure Adventures

    Region: US Genre: Adventure-me-do
Developer: Crave Publisher: Crave (Uh oh!)

Crayola Treasure Adventures asks the explorer to color, draw, and think their way through numerous exotic locations, challenging puzzles, and exciting adventures. Crayola Treasure Adventures also offers a digital coloring book that lets the young artist run wild with their imagination through more than a hundred different digital crayons and pictures that the young artist may colour. Its a kids game so expect it to totally talk down to them and to kinda suck a bit.

World Series of Poker 2008: Battle for the Bracelets

    Region: US Genre: Poker-me-do
Developer: Left Field Productions Publisher: Activison

Poker game of course, apparently its by Left Field Productions (who did the awesome ExciteBike 64 and the awful Dave Mirra PSP game) but they don't mention the DS version on their site. Can't find any screens at all.

    Animal Genius

    Region: US Genre: Edutain-me-do
    Developer: Scholastic, Inc. Publisher: Activision

Originally on LeapPad (oh dear!) this title is some kinda really lame game that apparently teaches kids about animals through lame mini games and quizzes.

    Kurupoto Cool Cool Stars

    Region: US Genre: Puzzle-me-do
Developer: Starfish SD Publisher: UFO Interactive

As a Star Worshipper, it is up to you, the Kurupoto, to free these Haloes from the puzzles they are stuck in and get your beloved stars shining in the sky once more. Simply tap the touchscreen and rotate the puzzle pieces that stand between your beloved stars and their Haloes -- there are over 100 levels and thousands of possibilities to play through! Warning! Every DS game UFO have released has been horrible!

    Arctic Tale

    Region: US Genre: Puzzle-me-do
Developer: Atomic Planet Publisher: Zoo Digital / DSI Interactive

Yes its based on a National Geographic license and will probably suck ass as its published by both Zoo Digital and DSI Interactive who have release so many bad games this year. Just look at the lame ass screens!!

    [IMG] [IMG]

Tamagochi no Puchi Puchi Omisechi Mina San-kyu!

    Region: Japan Genre: Puzzle-me-do
Developer: Starfish SD Publisher: UFO Interactive

The 3rd in the series, as known everywhere else as "Tamagotchi Connection Corner Shop". Not actually tried any of the games.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Also out in Japan on this day are:
    Bartender DS
    Eiken DS
    Itsudemo Doko Demo
    Jigoku Shoulo: Akekazura
Kokoro o Yasumeru Otona no Nurie DS 2
Mitsukete! Keroro Gunsou: Machigai Sagashi Daisakusen de arimasu!
    Picto Image DS
Simple Series Vol. 23: The Puzzle Quest: Agaria no Kishi
Zaidan Houjin Nippon Kanji Nouryoku Kentei Kyoukai Kounin: KanKen DS 2 + Jouyou Kanji Jiten

    28th September

    Fifa 2008

    Region: Europe Genre: Football-me-do
    Developer: EA Canada Publisher: EA
Multi-player: Holy crap yes! Online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Multi-card Multiplayer, Single-card Multiplayer.

Yet another FIFA game, Control the goalkeeper in one-on-one situations to deny the striker yourself, position the goalie exactly where you want on corners, and take complete control to make the save on free kicks. It's now all up to you!

Use the stylus and touch pad for ultimate control on free kicks and penalty kicks. Run up and strike the ball, curling a shot around the wall and into the goal. On defense, take control of your goalie and command the wall at the most crucial times. Master your nerves and perfect your shot on penalty kicks to win glory for your club in a new Penalty Shoot-Out mode. This year it is more strategic to break down the opposition than ever before with new defensive and positioning logic that ensures players are in the right place at the right time, constantly considering all threats and opportunities. The FIFA DS titles are the best footy games on the DS but thats not really saying much but they are pretty decent. Only problem was sometimes the controls weren't the best and the graphics were not great, hell not even as good as the later PSX/N64 titles. So far each release has got slightly better and those who played it at Leipzig say its much better.

    Video Link

Sorry no screenshots just yet, the ones on the EA site are of the console versions. Only that poorly filmed video for now. [IMG]

Ankh: Curse of the Scarab King

Region: UK Genre: Point 'n' click adventure-me-do
    Developer: Deck13 Publisher: Xider

A port of the PC point & click title. It will be scaled down graphically and won't feature as much voice work but the rest is pretty much the same game. Sneak into the Pharaoh's pyramid and meet up with Assil and his crew of crazy friends. Just as the party starts to get hot. A silly accident turns life upside down! Unleashing a deadly curse and discovering a precious amulet as Assil, you will be immersed in Ankh's Amazing ancient world. The PC version has had decent reviews getting 3 and half out of 5 scores at most places.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Ok not that much, but maybe two worth getting. This is the calm before the storm! As usual dates change blah blah and don't expect a ROM on the release day.

    Nice one, Haddock.

Fifa might be alright...maybe... especially if it has lower leagues!

Don't know why people still try to make 3D games on the DS.

I'm just waiting for Loco Roco (with WarioWare Twisted!'s tilt controls) and Alien Hominid (sp?).

    Never gonna happen...

What about Theta? Released but undumped? Play-Asia lists it as available since the first days of September.

Yeah it was released on the 6th I think, some Japanese games take ages to get dumped. Apparently there aren't as many groups in Japan as there use to be.

If you're not into racing or football theres nothing really.

I've not had that much time to play games this week. Maybe next week can be catch up week.

Some titles said to come out:
    October:
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
    Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol
    Dementium: The Ward
The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night
    Ash: Archaic Sealed Heat (Japanese)
    Chronos Twins (maybe [IMG]
Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day
    Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
Fullmetal Alchemist: Trading Card Game (Again maybe)
    Panzer Tactics DS
    Thrillville: Off the Rails
    Lifesigns: Hospital Affairs (Yet again...maybe)
    Myst
The Sims 2: Castaway (not looking too bad actually)
    Front Mission
    Chessmaster
    Mega Man ZX Advent
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations (Proper English one)
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Fuuketsu no Grimoire (Japanese)
Crash of the Titans (Would be nice if this was as good as the first 3 games)
    Ontamarama
    Simpsons
    Puzzle de Harvest Moon
    Need for Speed ProStreet

    November:
    Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
    Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
    Neves
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Hopefully this one isn't a bug ridden mess)
    Mario Party DS
    WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008
    Geometry Wars: Galaxies
Orcs & Elves (Hope its half as good as the mobile game)
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (This time its more like the Wii game)
    Cooking Mama 2
Dungeon Explorer: Jashin no Ryouiki (Japanese)
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Miami Nights: Singles in the City (Kinda like Sims, the mobile one was decent)
    Corvette Evolution GT
    Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
    Indianapolis 500 Legends
    Dragon Quest IV (Japanese)
    Ferrari Challenge
John Deere Harvest Heartland (I dunno I have a good feeling about this one, Harvest Moon clone but with machines as well)

Now theres a lot there isn't there? Some could be damn awful though and some delayed but still not bad at all.

    ^^ awesome line up!

Seems like for me the game to play will be Race Driver. I was looking forward to it ever since it was announced. So hopefully it's at least decent.

    And as always: Thanks Hadrian!

Race Driver is the only one that looks good in that 25-28 lineup.

Glad to see you're not dead Hadrian. [IMG]

This list makes me wonder a bit if they are just riding on the DS's success and j ust churning out games that doesn't even make me want to download it and try it out.

I'm actually looking forward for FIFA 2008, the last one wasn't that bad, I played it for a long long time before I get bored.
